Nice, a Manchester City thread with no bile or anti-City vitriol in it!
Still, it's a lively thread and long may it continue.

I'm sure he won't play against Juve on Thursday, but I wonder if he plays, whether Tevez will keep the captaincy for next Monday?

I see that we've signed a 19-year old Isreali midfielder from Barcelona. Gai Assulin - never heard of him bu there were a few clubs after him apparently (don't know which ones though!).

He was titled "the new Messi" in Spain, He was up and comming in the Barca youth squad and left them in the summer ( I have no idea why ), City have been trialing him for a while now but he's been injured which is why we have only just signed him.

and If City's new youth system of Quality over quantity is true then he must be pretty good.

I doubt he'll live up the the Messi name somehow though

Good, though short, article on David Silva which sums up the way I view him. Nice to see him get some credit in the press.

Guardian reporting that Dzeko wrote a letter to City to thank them for trying to sign him in the summer and that he is still interested in joining us.

Go Get Him!.

I reckon he'll be ours in January. When you think about it, we decided he wasn't worth the £34M escape clause in July, given the amount that we'd already spent/had in place in striking talent. But the fact that we are in with a shout for the top 4, plus the potentially damaging lack of striking options for various well documented reasons, I think that this is suddenly a no brainer.

Seems likely now alright, if Tevez is on his way City need a replacement ASAP.

There is a long and twisted road to be travelled in ths saga I feel.

There is a nice little article here about the new lad Gai Assulin.

Still no sign of changing the title thread

Job done - through as group winners, which is a nice bonus. Now the interesting build up to Monday's match startying with a Mancini-Tevez face-to-face tomorrow.

You've signed Assulin?? I've only seen him play a couple of times but this kid had a LOT of hype about him.

Well if we win tonight (counting chickens and all that) it will be the first time since 1929 that Manchester City will be top of the league at Christmas

The game is still on so will have to wrap up tonight it's gonna be artic conditions. Hope the fans don't boo Tevez for the sake of the club

Tevez fully commited to the club and has withdrawn his transfer request after "clear the air" talks.

more commonly known as a bank transfer!.

So he's 'done a Rooney' after all. He's not built right though.

We need him to have any chance of finishing above the side from Trafford

Tevez clearly wants to be the Henry Higgins of the beautiful game. A big task ahead

I thought Howard was superb tonight for Everton but boy did City pay for that sloppy start.
