Doctor Who 5x05 - "Flesh and Stone"
Dunno about anyone else, but I hope RTD gets turned to stone when he watches this new series so he can never darken our screens again. Tonight was SO much better. I actually rushed to get home in time to see it (which I never bothered to do the last couple of series) and I was NOT disappointed.
Really liking flirty feisty Amy. Liking Matt Smith's rapid fire line delivery style too, and telling her to shut up when she was afraid she was going to die . Only minor downside was Dr. Song fixing the teleport just in time seemed a tad too convenient. The tension while Amy was looking for the dropped communicator was great though.
Even starting to like the theme tune now, considering how much I disliked it on the first episode!
Can't wait for next week.

Loved it!
Best part of the episode (paraphrased):
"The crack, it's eating time energy... that means... it's erasing all the stupid stuff RTD did!"

Superb stuff yet again from Moffatt, just think how good Who could have been if he had been in charge right from the beginning.
There was enough their to lay teasers for future episodes with the River Song murder and the Amy Pond time.

God yes - when he mentioned the enormous victorian Cyberman, I suddenly remebered how extraordinarily stupid that was...
This is excellent TV. For the first time ever, I feel we have genre TV that's actually better than anything the states has to offer.

Was very clever and pretty clear that he is wiping everything clean.
Also any episode of TV on the BBC at 7.09 that ends with the lines
"Amy Pond, I need to get you sorted out right now"
"That's what I've been trying to tell you"
is alright with me! And in base terms the whole arc is about Amy Pond's crack.

And he mentioned twice about time being re-written.

Loved it! My 4yro daughter said after "Daddy, I don't like the statues."
-- edit --
I forgot to mention all the loud background music, but there did not appear to be any?

Loved it. Especially how things like the gravity solution was genuinely thought out and used right at the end of the episode.
Would've posted earlier but I've been Sky Plussing Alex Kingston's camoflaged arse for the last 10 minutes.

Fantastic!
Anyone else noticed that the comic timing is suberb? There were several lines this episode that were laugh out loud funny because the delivery was so good.
Loving it - and Smith is superb!

Enjoyable episode, although the resolution to the cliffhanger was a bit of a let down.
So the date the Doctor sees is 26/6/10, which is the date of the finale. I hope this big explosion isn't Amy. She's the best companion we've had, and I'd like to see her hang around for at least 2 series.

Another excellent episode. Liked the Doctor's flustered reaction to Amy trying to cop off with him ("You're human") getting all that nonsense done and dusted and put to bed now instead of ending up ruining a compaion (Hello Martha).
And I'd like to add myself to hurrahs at Moffat taking steps to making modern Earth a relatable and usable setting again, instead of the location of dozens of very public worldwide alien invasions and apocalyptic scenarios.

It was a different show, so dark in places, just as predicted on this forum. How it should have been done from the start. I can't help but wonder if Tennant is feeling a little inadequate as well considering all the praise Smith is getting. My own 13 y/o daughter is so sweet on Smith and before the series started, Tennant was the only one for her, shes also mentioned lots of people at school are so loving Who now and are forming fan clubs and other girls think Smith is 'gorgeous', what a turn around.

That was superb, amazing. Moffat gets it all right, doesn't he? Just what I've wanted it to be all along. Is that Pandorica thing turning up this series, then, or is it off in the future?
Side note: truly dreading the Richard Curtis episode.

I did not know that was the date...
Is anyone else trying to read between the lines about there being no ducks in the pond? I am sure he mentioned that again towards the end.

Man nearly an hour since it ended and only one page. These threads are slow when we all agree and aren't all calling each other names.

Poor old half-human Tennant clone, bet he regrets buggering off to parallel Earth with the clingy one with the ever increasing teeth when there's foxy redheaded minxes begging for a one-night sonic screwdrivering back on Earth 1.

Hoping that episode gets erased from events as well
Apart from that great episode, the Angels demonstrates how the show can be dark for a family show. Some people think, dark = BSG or x-files
