Ah, the 90s. Back in the days when movie/game adaptations were just churned out to make money.

But it couldn't match the film. Sheen and Biehn at their peak.

Navy Seals was the 1990s equivalent of The Expendables!

I loved it back then!

Loved The Expendables but Navy SEALs was a class above. The 80s music made it for me, especially the Bon Jovi cover of The Boys Are Back In Town.

I picked up the bare bones UK bluray of Total Recall and have still to watch it - don't know how to feel about any other releases but anything is a better idea than remaking!!

The premise may be the same but I don't see how the satirical elements would feed into it.

OT but... LOVED the guns in Navy Seals - the silenced machine gun things - beautiful! The noise they made - lovely!

Steelbook

One of the best films ever made.

I've preordered the steelbook but my finger will forever be hanging over the cancel button until some evidence of this new transfer being AMAZING starts to surface.

Wish they'd look into getting the cut footage.

Seeing as I've already bought this twice on an HD format, I'll wait for some reviews about the image quality before ordering.

Mmm if i can see it in the cinema that would be bloody awesome! I still remember getting a crappy pirate VHS of the film before it even came out, with the last 5 minutes missing lol it took years before I saw that last bit.

The new Blu Ray I have zero interest in, unless it looks STAGGERING! what are the chances of that considering the current blu Rays such an epic upgrade over the dvds.

I'm kind of hoping at least one cinema might do a double bill of the original and remake later in the summer!

I saw the new digital print at the cinema last night. Picture was... ok. They've evidently wrung as much detail as possible out of the late-80s film stock, but it's hardly eye candy (still, if we ever get a rerelease of Robocop that looks as good as this I'll be quite satisfied). I think the sound was improperly decoded though - all the dialogue was echoing around the surrounds. Probably a fault of the cinema rather than the print.

It's rated 15 these days!
