Hey if they do a special edition with a nice feature film long documentary and a Sam commentary, some of us may buy it again

Wouldn't we have loved a Sam commentary, but scheduling didn't allow it. Perhaps for the 25th anniversary edition

One thing I do know is that there won't be a director's cut, as being low budget pretty much every frame shot is in this version, and Duncan's very happy with it

Not to me it didnt, I must be thick. I'll stare at it later...

I loved it too, deliberately avoided everything to do with it before I saw it, and given the nature of the film, I am very pleased I did that. Full marks for another Clint Boon soundtrack as well - perfectly matched the film.

Incidentally, its also given me one of my favourite Amazon 1-star reviews -

"1x star
This review is from: Moon [DVD] [2009] (DVD)

No matter how many buttons I pressed I couldn't stop the film crew talking over the film. I threw it away. "

KRW, a friend of mine forwarded that review to me as well, which he thought was hilarious. Still, it's frustrating to have people give 1 star to our film because of a faulty disk.

By the way, those Amazon reviews were the first I'd heard of any problem with defaulting to the commentaries. Has anyone else experienced that? Apparently the fix is to just hit the audio button on your remote while watching and cycle to the commentary free track, but still an odd thing to happen. Nobody I know has had that problem, my copy works fine, and reviews on Play for example don't mention it, so hopefully it was just a few copies affected.

You're giving the guy way too much credit. I'm guessing he just couldn't figureout how to change the audio on his £15 tesco value DVD player.

I wonder if it has to do with the default audio selection in the player, you know, the one which lets you choose your own Language over the disk default?

That's what I, and I imagine everyone else who saw the review thought as well, especially as they then '..threw the disc away'. I think a 1 star review is a benchmark of success, esp for a reason as stupid as that.

By the way, for anyone still not convinced about buying the film, the first 7 minutes have been officially posted by Sony on the web, to coincide with the US DVD release. Available a bunch of places including here: http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer...irst-7-minutes

Best

Well I've just voted in the Empire awards, and Moon comes out tops for me, Best sci fi (yes even over District 9), Sam's best actor, and best UK film too. Its just all-round-fab. Moon and Let the Right One In have really stayed with me, and along with D9 are my top 3 movies from 2009.

O and we're doing Moon for the movie in 60 second movie comp in Empire too - My brother is growing a beard as I write!!

Just watched the bluray. Just fantastic. Beautifully paced, and how good is Rockwell!

Nice bit of scoring too but very subtle, difficult to notice sometimes as the visual is so engaging.

Watched this a few days back on Bluray also found it to be fantastic, was really surprised by it. And Rockwall was superb.

After getting this for Christmas, we finally watched it over the weekend; wow, I'm glad I avoided all spoilers anywhere about this film.

An excellent film that I'm now recommending to everyone!

I had that problem with the UK DVD strangely on my DVD player at work. The film defaulted to some non-English warnings and labels, and then the commentary started. But toggling through the audio button fixed it quickly. I don't know why those amazon reviewers didn't try that...

News just in and Moon has been nominated for 2 BAFTA awards. Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut for Duncan Jones.

I'd love to have seen a nomination for Sam Rockwell, as you'll never convince me there was a better performance by an actor this year, let alone 5 of them, but overall feeling pretty happy

Definitely favourite for debut, strong competition in british film I'd say but in with a shout. Well deserved and good to see the film continuing to get recognition.

Paulsaz, Moon beat the same field at the British Independent Film Awards, but you're right, Debut is our safer bet. BAFTA are showing a LOT of love to An Education. Still as you say, in with a shout
