Enjoyed it again this week. They've managed to weave this personal story into the overall fringe event of the week extremely well. The Bishop/Peck stuff in the lab was great, Noble again on fine form.

Great season, but Im finding the bishop stuff a bit much, purely as I look forward to the comedy from Walter... but with the whole 'thing' going on he's not so nuts

Next week's Fringe is the Musical episode.....

"While Walter deals with some very upsetting news, he tells Olivia's niece, Ella, a fairy tale that includes musical performances by Olivia and Agent Broyles. "

This is either going to be Awesome, or Horrendous.

I really enjoyed that episode, the
was very poignant.

The only part that let it down for me, or I missed the answer, was the fact when Peck time travelled into the past - he was the only version of himself in that time. Where were the early versions of himself? Was he just jumping back into locations where he had been in the past and replacing himself...while retaining the implants?

I think so. But then there's the question of why he just appeared on the train at the beginning. If he jumped back into himself (as he seemed to do later) he would have already had to be on the train.

Very good episode though. Absolutely loved the scene where Walter and Peck just sat across from each other and talked. As you say, the message at the end brought a lump to my throat.

Pretty sure he was not replacing himself. Hence his appearance on the train.

I think it was a mistake that they did not show a body next to the balloon after his final time jump

So basically its a waste of an episode devoted to giving the actors something different to do as its an enactment of a story Walter tells Rachel.

Not impressed.

I've been about a month behind with this show and finally caught up tonight (not seen the musical ep yet though) and the series has really raised its game in the last few weeks, great stuff. The flashback episode in particular was excellent and a first rate performance from John Noble, but then I've always felt from the start that without Walter Fringe would be pretty pap. Although I do have to say that there was nothing revealed in the flashback that I think most of us wouldn't have already guessed at a long time ago, the only thing that surprised me was:

Another thing I picked up on that hasn't been mentioned yet:

Well this weeks
episode was a bit random, and rubbish. The writers must have been smoking brown betty too!

It wasn't great, but it was OK. The episodes which relate closely to the arc are always going to be stronger.

2 x 20 Brown Betty

Brown Betty - Utterly pointless episode, served as a metaphor for the main elements of the series but just left me thinking "Why?". Thank goodness the whole episode wasn't sung, when they did sing I cringed. Hopefully back on track this week.

Good episode, I thought. At the end I was wondering whether Peter had really been seeing the guy from the other side or if it was his mind playing tricks on him.

The reveal of Mr Secretary wasn't much of a surprise, but nice to know for sure.
