Which e-reader would be best for comics/graphic novels?

I'm not bothered about it not being in colour as most of my comics are mono anyway from the 70's (2000AD, Action, Battle, Hammer Horror etc), but which e-reader would be best to read them? ie. not to much scrolling and have the print large enough to read, I was thinking of the Kindle.

Cheers

I've loaded a few pdf tech manuals on my kindle for reference. It's ok as a last resort but not a great way to read that material tbh.

I'd guess ipad for it's touch screen, pinch zoom and size but have no experience of using one.

yeah for full page comics an ipad or a Kindle DX would be best - I'd imagine scrolling around and zooming in on a normal Kindle would drive you mad after a while.

Have to say that personally I'd go for an iPad over a DX. A low-spec iPad would be cheaper and you'd get colour too (as well as a whole host of other features). The iPad allows you to read Kindle ebooks too.

I did consider the iPad but at nearly 4x the cost of a kindle it's out of the question atm.

You could get one of the many Android ipad knock offs that are appearing for about Ł100. There not ipad beaters but if you just want to read comics there ideal. (Plus they have usb.)

Another vote for the iPad here, i use my Kindle for reading books, but its not great at using for comics. Not sure what the DX version would be like, since its more of a scaling issue with the smaller Kindle 3 that makes it not great.

The DX Kindle isnt particularly cheap either though, you'd be paying around the same price as a lower end iPad.

The other option as mentioned above is finding a cheapish android tablet (hopefully one which works well), sadly the branded tablets already out and coming out soon aren't cheap at all either (infact, they're mostly more expensive than the iPad).

Did try that but a bit bulky laying in bed reading.

Cheers for the replies, looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and save for a cheap ipad - hopefully be some price drops when ipad2 is announced.

Which e-reader would be best for comics/graphic novels?

I use my iPhone, I have to scroll or zoom in quite often but it's great for keeping a few books on me and I can read them wherever I want
