I Heard You Paint Houses : Pacino, De Niro, Pesci & Scorsese make a gangster flick

Please happen

Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci & Martin Scorsese together. Could be heavenly.

Please happen. Pacino & De Niro need to be back in good films. And it would be sweet for Pesci to be in the mix too.

I'll let Martin finger my kids if this movie happens and is any good. If its brilliant he can fist them apart.
Well somebody seems pretty excited by the prospect

They already did, they're called Goodfellas and Casino.

It would take a major cynic to not be interested. No doubt one will be along in a few.

If it happens with that cast it had better be called Treefellas.

I guess it might be alright, but I think Pacino lost that 'gangster factor' quite a few years ago. Now he just looks like an old weasel and also seems to have shrunk to about 4 foot tall.
I agree it's about time we had another mafia epic. But are Pacino, Pesci and Di Nero really up to it?

Donnie Brasco?

Pacino was superb in that.

Hello?

Dunno' - Scorsese's just making merely competent films these days - far from the dynamite of the past.

Him, Pesci and De Niro have produced fantastic results the 3 times they've worked together so far. Whos to say the trifecta wont work again.

True, and I hope so too. Actually, I've yet to see Shutter Island, so I shouldn't write-off Nu-Scorsese so sharply.

Would we get Goodfellas or Casino - I'm fond of them both but Casino hardly gets spoken about in the same way Goodfellas does.

Would be good to see Pesci in anything - hasn't he been off singing or something for a while now?

It's a shame that Casino is often labelled a Goodfellas reheat, as opposed to an equally compelling companion piece.

If I had to opt for one, it'd be Goodfellas - but that's hardly a slight on the expansive and notably more vicious Casino.

Notably more vicious? Some of the stuff in it is absolutely horrific. The cornfield scene for example, now that is very hard to watch.
