Tower are customs friendly, eh? Well, for an 'all-in' price that's the best I've seen so far, as the customs hit on the play version would be another 16-odd quid on top.

Soooo glad I bit the bullet and bought this set when I did. It's a shame that Fox have monkeyed (sorry) with the UK version, but I can't say I'm surprised.

Has anyone got the UK release yet?
If so can you please confirm if the isolated scores and different cuts of Battle & Conquest are present.

Not sure about the scores but the UK set has no book or alternate cut of Battle.

The additional scenes of Battle have their own deleted scenes section.

My multiregion Bluray player arrived yesterday and its Region A debuts will be Day The Earth Stood Still and the Apes boxset .

PLAY have not had any for over a week so I shelled out £79 to a UK Ebayer so at least it should be here in a day or two

Can't wait

Not much spare on credit card but Paypal account was quite healthy and I doubt Tower would get it here by Xmas - which is the reason I went for a UK seller - there were cheaper US options but for the Apes I make an exception

Planet Of The Apes and The Day The Earth Stood Still, brilliant! Certainly sounds like the perfect night in to me. Bentlollipop, which multiregion Blu-ray player did you go for?

The Panasonic BD30 for £269 from Multiregion Magic.

Its only Profile 1.1 but a Profile 2 player was nearly £100 more and having used BD Live on the PS3 I think its going to be as relevant to Bluray as the multiangle feature is to dvd and certainly not worth £100.

All hype and no substance - just a gimmick

The hack works perfectly and none of the BD Live discs I have had any playback problems

The isolated score of Conquest and Battle are only on the extended versions so I guess the UK set will not have it on Battle.

The book is massive and for the UK set not to have it is simply Fox laughing at Brits again

Having now watched all 5 movies in this set,got to be honest and say they've dated somewhat, even the first one.still enjoyed them though and the unrated cut of Conquest is quite a revelation

A multiregion Bluray player was always on the cards for me in addition to the PS3 so the US Apes set for £51.99 from PLAYUSA will be my inauguaral Region A purchase.

I plan to get the multiregion Panasonic from Multiregion Magic for a mere £269 in the New Year

Does anyone who has bought one of these (or the BD35) know if they will play AVCHD discs OK ?

This looks perfect for what I want, as long as it will play AVCHD.

Thanks,
Kevin.

Yes.

They do the BD30 (£269), BD35 (£349) & BD55 (£468) all having multiregion DVD (autoselect) and multi region Blu Ray (manually select with the remote).

I just need to know if any/all will play AVCHD discs OK.

Kevin.

PLAY have the 1st film for £9.99 which is supposed to be a Play exclusive. I ordered (and it shipped yesterday) as I have no interest in the other Ape films.
