Looks like its shipped. Another disc I forgot I'd ordered months ago, just like Wall-E which is winging its way to me too.

Not sure if its been mentioned in the thread. But what is the difference between the US and UK Blu-ray? I might just have to get the UK if its £14.99.

Lol! Hold me back

I'm sold on the media center approach now tbh, so I can't see me buying any more for the foreseeable unless its something really special. Its convenience over ultimate picture quality for me now.

Its daft paying that much I know, but having sold a bit of tat on ebay and noticing dvds limited accept Paypal I decided to just go for it.

I loved the film and cant wait to check it out in HD (having just got my new HDtv) so this is just a one off really. There will be no further £24 single film purchases in the future, I promise (Casablanca really doesnt count as its a fancy set release)

Fair dues. I would probably be tempted if it was one of my favourites too.

I wouldn't pay £24 for it, but I paid £16 to see it twice at the cinema and was strongly considering a third viewing.

Don't feel you have to justify spending your own money on a film, mate. It's your money, do with it what you want!

I'm really looking forward to seeing this having heard so many good things about it, but am going to wait for it to come out at my local Asda.

LordoftheDance - Yea of course, I think I was justifying the purchase to myself rather than anyone else ha Spending that much on a film is not my standard practice, I consider myself tight with money and a bargain hunter lol.

Still I know that when the Blu-Ray arrives and I pop the film in to view all its HD-goodness, that £24 will be the last thing in my mind!

Well over on the AVS forums, they're already annoyed. They don't like the aspect ratio changes for the IMAX scenes. Also they say the picture has edge enhancement.

I just watched my copy. Regarding PQ why is it they have to mess with the block busters. I was disappointed to see someone applied good ole EE. The ringing is not to bad but its enough to leave the movie with what I call edginess at times during long distance shots it clearly rears its head. Sad. I had to make sure all sharpness setting were flat for this one but it did not help clean it up.
I screened this at 8 feet wide. I doubt anyone with a smaller display or flat panel will notice as this transfer will come off extra on these sets.
Other then this complaint I found the transfer/sound/movie enjoyable.

All follow ups please mention your display width.

Thx.

It's been a hot pre order for a while now. 2nd on the Amazon list and higher up the "all DVD" chart than the Blu ray of Wall-e.!

Mamma Mia is the perfect 'justify the player' xmas gift, so I'd expect it to sell well. The rest of the list, apart from Batman, is pretty poor mind. I much prefer Death Proof over Planet Terror so will be tempted there, but only in a sale.
