They should get rid of Firehouse and put God Of Thunder in there

I was at the Sheffield gig tonight. What can I say, awesome, absolutely awesome!

There wasn't really anything new in the 2 hour show (aside from the 3 Sonic Boom songs plus Crazy Crazy Nights, and a brief moment of Led Zep's Whole Lotta Love during Black Diamond), it was pretty much the same "standard" Kiss setpieces as in recent DVDs (Gene flies up, Paul flies out, the tickertape finale etc, they even had exactly the same background videos in God Gave Rock And Roll To You as on the Rock The Nation DVD) but when it's this good it really doesn't need changing. After nearly 40 years they're still the hottest live band in the world.

A couple of first night teething problems, Gene seemed to be having some trouble with his guitar with a roadie running on 2 or 3 times, and he got lifted up on the wire briefly too early, but apart from that - definitely one of the best live shows I've ever seen, and I've been going to gigs for around 25 years now.

Eh? I'm assuming Gene breathes fire during Firehouse?

Get rid of Lick It Up and Crazy, Crazy Nights to make way for God of Thunder and Strutter

Looking forward to Newcastle tonight. Katie is hyped. They always put on a good show... despite the problems when they ditched the make-up and didn't know what to do onstage

Have to be going something to be the best gig I've seen now though. After Tom Waits, Tool and Les Claypool recently(ish). Well, since the last time I saw them on the Reunion Tour.

But I'm expecting something special and I know they won't disappoint

Great show last night, 2hr set , came on about 8;45 ish. Cool new platform where they raise about 30ft in the air above the drum kit and then drop down in front of it. Tommy still has the rocket guitar during Shock me and Eric now has a rocket launcher as well......

Gene's solo is the same spitting blood and flying during I love it loud, Paul now flies out over the crowd during I was made for loving you, instead of Love Gun..
Newcastle tonight....

Rich..

I'd love to hear Strutter again but never understood the love for God of Thunder?

A couple of songs I'd like to hear live again....

I Stole Your Love
Creatures Of The Night

Would happily swap out GGRARTY and Crazy, Crazy Nights from the current set for the above 2. Not complaining though, I'm very happy to see them play anything

Ooo... I Stole Your Love would be great

God of Thunder rumbles along and is a so-so track, but when Gene is stomping around the stage singing it that is a sight worth seeing

Jeez, my hay fever is playing up! I hope it doesn't ruin tonight. My eyes and nose are streaming

Anyone spot photographers in the pit last night (would have been first 2 songs)? I'm assuming they're not going to stick us on the soundboard.

No song changes last night it seems...just a couple of technical hiccups again.

Day off for them today...wonder if they'll go to the Beatles Museum before tomorrows gig in Liverpool?

Really good gig

Couple of odd glitches. Shame the small screens to the right of the drums were a bit intermittent and when Paul swung out to the mini stage it seemed to take him a while to realise he was singing to a blanked off arena and turned around.

I've never liked the arena as a venue, terrible sound.

Merch prices weren't 'too' bad. Should've bought a Destroyer shirt for 22 quid but I ended up getting Katie a tour shirt instead. 20 quid for a kids shirt, ouch!

The Destroyer one was 22 quid:

The Hotter than Hell baseball jersey was 25 quid:

When you look at ordering them online, factor in shipping and possible duty they are a bit of a bargain.

I 'think' the adult tour shirts were around 20 - 22 quid. I don't usually buy Kiss tour shirts as I can't remember the last time they had a good design

Mind, 15 quid for a programme! Ouch!
