Was it just a coincedence that the plane happened to crash at the same time he didn't push the button?
no, it may have been coincedence they were so close to the island at the point he failed to press the button, but i thought they (Desmond at least) were sure that his (lack of) actions caused them to crash?

I started watching this on Sci-Fi after Virgin Media lost Sky One. They did a catchup weekend which was handy. I've been very impressed with Heros and have not missed Lost one bit. I expect I will catch Lost on VoD later in the year.

^ You should cite sources for information like that (especially if confirmed).

Sorry, Life & Style magazine apparently said that. Plus Evangeline Lily has backed it up. Apparently.

I'll add a bit more, this from USA Today, a little older than the above info:

Have we been told what happened to Kate (If anything) after her lunch on the beach with Ben back in 3x01?

She came back a little shaken up. Nothing sinister was implied, just I don't think we were shown the end of the lunch?

The question I still want answered is how Locke knew the exact minute it was going to start raining back in season 1.

It could have something to do with the way Desmond did the same thing a few episodes ago in London. Though if that were true, either Locke's been keeping schtum about his time-travelling experience, or he's forgotten but subconsciously remembers things like when it starts to rain. Or, more likely, that's all ******** and we'll never hear about it again.

I think comparisons with Heroes arise because both have really good cliffhangers. The problem I have with people critising Lost is when they say they never answer questions (they do). They haven't answered the big questions, but as I pointed out in the first ever thread (or soon after) we won't ever find the answers out until the final episode. Simply because once we know that'll be it, they can't really write much after the big revelations.

I don't think the flash backs are filler in the way people mean. However they can't really spend 45mins on the island itself each week. For me the flashbacks have been largely entertaining, if not shocking and fantastic. I can't remember being bored or disappointed too often.

And while I love heroes, I think the last 4 or 5 haven't been as good as the first batch.

For me the problem with Lost is simply that I am no longer as interested in finding out the answers to the unanswered questions as I once was and ultimately I don't find watching it as satisfying or entertaining as I once did.

I suppose if I feel that way the end result is I loose interest further or stop watching completely. It's not a conscious decision on my part, it's just how I feel about it at the moment.

As I said before though I'm continuing to watch but I'm just not particularly excited about it at the moment.

I guess it's just a personal thing and if people are still really enjoying it and enjoying the flashbacks etc (as clearly they are) then that's great.

I also agree that the pace of Heroes did slow down a bit after the first few episodes, but for now I'm still interested and keen to find out what happens. I'm enjoying 24 much more than both of them put together though.

It'd be pretty dull if we all enjoyed the same things though wouldn't it.

Mark
