Too much emphasis on camp and gags, and not enough plot.

I tend to stay away from the Dr Who threads as they tend to get a bit "fanboy agressive" but this has to be the right move for Tennant.
In the very few episodes I've enjoyed since he took over he's shown he can act, but with RTD giving him glorified Hi-De-Hi scripts every week he needs to make the break before the show can drag him down.
Shame to see that RTD has taken one of the most famous and respected pieces of British TV and turned it into a weekly "saucy panto". Perhaps he could get Jim Davidson to be the doctor or bring Sid James or Kenneth Williams back to life for the part.
Carry on up the time-space continuum anyone?

One or two good episodes sprinkled throughout but overall low quality TV.

Yes especially the Davies scripted ones. He seems to be almost above criticism - but his episodes are frankly embarrassing.

Time (geddit) for a hot lady doctor IMO.
However they'll probably go for "first black doctor!"/"first muslim doctor!"/"first gay doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111" or something else artificially "groundbreaking".

Personally I think the time of actors staying in the role fro 4-5 seasons+ is over. It's natural to move on nowadays.

Some episodes agreed but did you see "The Girl in the Fireplacer" or the two-part season finale. The plot in both was fantastic.
IMO while Christopher Eccelston is a great actor he was the wrong person to play the Doctor (leather jacket???). David Tennant is a much better Doctor IMO.

Did anyone think Dr. Who used his sonic screwdriver a ridiculous amount of times in the Christmas Special?
Every 2 minutes or problem he was in out it would come. The Classic series he'd only use it every now and again,

Not suprising really, apart from a couple of episodes it's been as embarassing as the crappy 80's episodes I remember watching as a kid!

Wasn't Doctor Who always intended to be a kids programme?
And certainly this new version has always been marketed very strongly at children -appearances on Blue Peter etc, and have you been to Toys R Us and seen all the "official" tat they sell there?

With this rate of Time Lord turnover they're gonna need to fit the TARDIS with a revolving door!

Even if he does quit he will have done four and a half series (according to The Sun) so it will be unlike Christopher Ecclestone who only did the one. I fail to see why this is such news as it will be a while before the fourth series is even aired.
