Battlestar Galactica s03e09 "Unfinished Business" **Spoilers**

Great little episode; fills in the blanks from New Caprica, and sets up new plotlines, while giving us an insight into the minds of some of the characters.

Nice to see the tache, and Ellen back albeit briefly.

But interesting to see how and why Starbuck got so moody, and who'd have thought that Tyrol would have a hook mean enough to flatten Adama!

Great ep and proves if you develop the characters enough so the viewers care about them you don't need huge battles or twisting plots to create great drama.

BSG shows how to develop the characters in an adult way (not mentioning another show at all )

After last week quite average episode it was great to have such a good episode.

Is the show doing well in the US? I've heard the viewing figures have dropped a bit

Decent enough episode despite the lack of SFX-laden action scenes. Some good character stuff & the return of the 'tache!

Roslin in that red dress on New Caprica just reaffirmed what a PILF (President I'd Love to Frak) she is.

Although it's not 100% clear, are the Pres and the 'tache doing the dirty?

Fantastic episode, obviously done to save money, but developed so many relationships. Starbuck is so frakked up!

Another great episode - really pleased to see the writers focusing on the Apollo-Starbuck relationship again, and I loved their down & dirty fight near the end. Seeing Adama's tache again only made me wish he'd kept it though.

Don't know how I'm gonna survive when this breaks for Xmas and the New Year - last week was hard enough!

Seconded! I suspect they're going to keep us hanging on the 'have they/ haven't they' thing.

Looks like Dee and Anders don't actually know why Lee and Kara have had it in for each other... Judging from the end of Series 2, I'd assumed that Dee knew what had gone between the two of them (whatever it was, coz we didn't know at the time) and was making hubby suffer for it.

Why exactly did Adama pick on Tyrol, anyway?

No sure how you can have a man with no depth perception act as a referee in a boxing match, though.

I was hoping for more Gaeta screen-time; he's the most underused character in the cast.

Also, why does Lee have it in for Karl?

Well it seems I'm alone in thinking this episode was a bit pants then.

After a 2 week break I was champing at the bit for new BSG , and I got this really " meh" episode. I found the whole thing pointless, ( Adama and Tyrol? ) and the only thing it did for me was make Starbuck into an even more incredbly unlikeable character.

(Probably doesn't help that it was a Starbuck-centric ep, and personally I've never liked her character right from the 1st ep. She's always come across as big mouthed, arrogant biotch to me, who needed a smack in that big gob of hers which she finally got this week).

Hopefully this week was just a budget-saving "bottle episode" blip, and it'll be back to it's usual high standards next week.

I think the reason why was, after Tyrol was told to do something he said he would get to it later or something. Which was Adama's speech at the end was all about he let some of the crew get to close and didn't respect him as they use to.

The chief was being soft on one of his mechanics, letting him take a break. Adama realised that his softer attitude before the occupation, had been adopted by others.

I don't get why Starbuck wanted to go after Apollo. It was her choice to **** and run, not his.

Plus Bill realised he'd made a terrible mistake in allowing the Chief to go down to New Caprica, and felt guilty about it.

I don't think that was it, it was as andybhoy said, a symptom of the fact that they had all got soft and forgotten that they are on a warship. He needed to get the message across, and giving Tyrol a bit of a beating before taking it got that message through better than words ever could.

Interesting episode, yet another brave direction from the show with this low-tech, character-driven episode. Also shows how there are a lot of very messed up people and relationships in that fleet!

The ratings have dropped a small amount from last year. From next January the show moves from friday to sunday.

Is Sunday bad for shows? I would of thought Friday is the worse as people go out to bars/clubs and stuff

Its the night with the most viewers I believe.

BTW although overall viewers are slightly down, the demos are up, which is a more important number than households. A18-34 +12% A18-49 +2% and these are the age ranges that the advertisers are most interested in.

Edit: This is the same move the X files did which took it from cult hit to mainstream success

Isn't it the night HBO used to show the Sopranos and other acclaimed dramas? I think they're trying to cash in on some of the fantastic reviews they've had, likening it to an HBO show.

Oh and I hated this episode, I hated that Kara and Lee shagged, too close to incest for me. I hated that Kara cheated on Anders and then betrayed Lee. I hated that Lee sought solace fom Karas rejection in Dee's love.

Now Kara is plain nuts and a disaster as a human being but remeber Lee of S1 the man of principles, he's now bonking his brothers ex behind his girlfriends back.

Lets skip over the impossibility of Starbuck being able to fight and win against hotdog and to hold her own against Lee. She may be tough but both men outweigh her by way too much and have too great an advantage in reach. I'd expect both men to be able to press more than twice what she can. She'd be slaughtered.
