There's been a jackpot winner on 'Deal Or No Deal'!!

From TV Scoop
Quote:
A contestant has won the first ever jackpot on Deal or No Deal. The £250,000 prize was scooped by a 24-year-old woman in filming on Tuesday... but get this... you won't be able to see it just yet as Channel 4 don't plan on showing it until early next year. The big win was watched by the lady's family and friends, and knocks the previous record of £120,000 into a cocked hat. The winner has not yet been named by producers.

Host Noel Edmonds, along with the team behind the show, is said to be over the moon at the news. A source told the Daily Mirror: "Noel is absolutely thrilled and so are the rest of the production crew. The only person not happy to be giving so much away is the banker.

Is the persons name mentioned, where they came from, when the show is going to be broadcast?

NO

Nice to see the talent of "box picking" being richly rewarded by our game shows.

After many months of viewing, and seeing Noel saying week after week, the £250K just HAS to be in the box tonight as it's so long overdue.

I've finally got bored with it.

Stuck with it for many months and enjoyed it greatly, but just recently was starting to feel it was becoming stale.

Everyone was bottling it at the £20K mark (which is a good idea generally)

The spark and enthusiasm of the contestants and the entire show seemed to be drifting away..... It just felt like every episode was just waiting for the £250K to appear. (which never did)

still, you've ruined the magic now!

Not that I watch it much now - I have 2 weeks worth on my Sky+ and I normally start at 35mins and blast thru it

And I suppose it'll be flagged to hell in the media in the week b4 it's broadcast

But it is the entertainment drama of the century!

You can't script drama like this.

There has actually been 3 or 4 winners according to Noel Edmonds on the Johnathon Ross show. They all won it inm the first few months of the show. They have just not been shown on TV as they wanted to delay the person winning the prize on TV.

If that is the case wouldn't we notice that people were disappearing.

Infact I seen to remember from the first series that old bloke that used to like having a go at the banker, disappeared without a trace

I haven't watched this for ages but his disappearance at the time seemed a bit odd. I guess in this instance it is me putting two and two together and coming up with nine

Yeah, that was just Noel telling porkies..

As said, with this sort of show - you'd notice when certain people start disappearing. What would they have to gain by delaying showing the actual winning anyway?

Yup - Charlie Brooker's Screen Wipe pointed this out in a particularly viotriolic (and totally accurate) attack a couple of months ago.

The competition is just an overlay on the screen. Its pretty easy to have the show run at a totally different time as the competition.

They record something like three shows a day.
