Batman Returns?

Anyway, Robin Williams as Joker - bad idea. He's too old and porky.

An article with Williams talking here:

I imagine Nolan will go with someone in their early to mid 30s, but you never know.

I hope not. Williams seems to know his comics, but hes far too old and fat to play the Joker.

I heard Sean Penn a while ago. But I think Johnny Depp would be ideal.

Well Nolan's still finnishing off the Prestige so castings still a bit off.

I'd give Paul Bettany a go if i was him...

Jack Nicholson (53)was older than Robin Williams (55) when he played the Joker in Batman and he was great. I think Robin Williams would be great in the role

I guess i was wrong, but Robin is only 2 years older than Jack was

The Joker needs someone who not only can capture the mental side but also the physical side

Needs to be more tall and thin than short and round

Also someone who can capture just how insane and creepy he really is

Crispin Glover has always had my vote for the role

Personally for the Joker I think both Jude Law or Crispin Glover would suit the role.

I suppose Jim Carrey would have been the ideal blend of comedy and darkness, if he hadn't already camped it up as the Riddler.

Dear god no! Depp's 'comic' turns have their place but it's not in a Batman movie.

Nicholson was great, but it was a millon miles away from what the Joker in the comics is like. Nicholson was too likeable, and not nearly demented and creepy enough.

If he was younger, I'd probably pick Brad Dourif for the Joker.
