The Amazing Race 9

Starts tonight with a 2 hour special.

Really glad that we are back to the proper format rather than the insipid Family Edition of season 8.

Still have the last final episode of last season to watch come to think of it.

Looking forward to watching this - hopefully tonight! Really missed it last season - didn't bother with the Family Edition after negative comments here...

I wonder if they ruined it with Rob & Amber? Hard to top that season really.

Um, CBS spaceduck

Came across a little snippet recently that might interest anyone that watched the last season: that is if anyone actually watched it

Episode 1

Decent start to the series. No real stand out characters or twists so far but I think Desiree is pretty hot. Looks like an actress but can't put my finger on who.

The hippies BJ and Tyler look like they could be a laugh.

Some very strong teams in it this season I think. Eric and Jeremy would be favourites but their weakness is they would prefer a shag than run this race

I liked it a lot... Some good characters - Desiree is cute but a little annoying with the whole 'I'm Puerrrrto Rican you know?' thing, but not as much as her mam. Team MoJo are annoying but not hateable.

Lake and his wife are hilariously competitive - 'that was... partially my fault'

The nerds are strangely likeable... The black couple were serious but provided the first episode's comedic highlight when they were putting that motorbike together outside and she was getting hassled by the other mechanics - he looked like he wanted to kill them all!

Shaggy and his mate seem okay. Shame the gay lads went out so early really and not the oldsters or 'glamazons'.

Episode 2

Another decent episode.

The two blokes really are going to get herpes on this trip if they are not careful!

I thought the old fogeys were really going to lose it at the waterfall climb. Really shocked they went for that - but fair does and goodluck to them.

Still liking Desiree

Any news when this will be shown in the UK? I see that it has been renewed for seasons 10 and 11 now.

Another good episode.

Felt really sorry for Desriee's mum in the pool. Maybe Desiree should have put the swimsuit on instead

Pretty obvious it was going to be a non-elimiation leg though from the pitstop clue.

Was glad she finally called her mam on that ridiculously fake accent
Pleased in the end that 'Team Dani' got through, cos the thinner one of those two is definitely the cutest one on this season...

Detour was funny, but they didn't seem as strict on the Bavarian dancing as I expected them to be. Some well ropey slapping going on there

Just a quickie, guys - is 'TAR' 'child-friendly' ? With the break after 'Survivor' ep 7, thinking about trying it out as it sounds good ? Just want to check it's as sweary-free as 'Survivor' as my 8 year old is as obsessed with it as we are. Cheers.

Certainly the UK tranmissions are so i imagine the US ones are. I hope a UK broadcaster has got the rights for the new series.

All very child friendly - which is a surprise since they get into very stressful situations a lot.

TV.com thinks that it was on. I've not seen any evidence to support that, however.

I have seen a poorly encoded version knocking around but not the usual 350mb version.
