Doctor Who - The Ninth TV Doctor; Season 1 - Ep 10: The Doctor Dances *Spoilers*

Seeing as we had two threads for the last two-parter, I suppose we should do the same this week (although it seems a bit confusing).

I'm really looking forward to this week's episode - I thought Ep.9 was probably the strongest episode of the season so far. I'm nervous that the conclusion will be pap though, and wrapped up in the last 5 minutes with a sonic screwdriver, RTD or no RTD.

Has anyone seen it in advance? Without spoiling, any chance of a confirmation of whether the second part is as good as the first?

It's called The Doctor Dances not the The Empty Child Part 2.

All I can say is the resolution to the cliffhanger is brilliant.

Does it involve The Doc, Rose and Capt. Jack escaping the clutches of death by a whisker?

Interesting thing my mate found today in a copy of Dreamwatch magazine from mid 2004. He said the magazine had a list of stuff predictions (insider info?) for the new series, and all had happened apart from one ...

Personally, I am not convinced that one is true, but you never know, and (to quote Percy McSmug McCoy's Doctor) ... "time will tell, it always does".

Someone on another site found a supposed banner for episode 12 that possibly gives away the identity of Bad Wolf. POSSIBLE SPOILER IN THE FOLLOWING LINK! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

Interesting if it's legit.

With regards to the spoiler, i really doubt that since Bruno Langley only filmed the two episodes already seen.

Great episode...great ending...
10/10

(I was very worried at the start with the "Go to your Room!!" stuff)
Shame next week has the Slavine or what ever they are. Still looks like it might be good

very good enjoyable episode, shame the loghic doesn't hold up, ie such clever nanobots that can repair alien physioilogy cannot tell where a gas mask ends and abody begins.

In the previous thread someone asked me to elaborate on what my problem with the rtd/eccleston doctor is, and this episode highlighted it. He is a great Doctor but he is not THE Doctor I would say, but what I'm about to moan about the portrayal is something Colin Baker and Hartnell were probably guilty of so its just me getting used to not a goody goody doctor. The scne I refer to is the one where he lays a guilt trip on Captain Jack, he's capacity to take a disliking of someone (mickey for instance) and then lay into them like viscious little child whatever chance he gets. I remember the doctor being the standard hero, always in the right, and yes he laid into people, but they were villians and his pov was always proved right in the end. Whereas this Doctor we never know whether he is going to be right or not, he could quite as easily get the wrong end of the stick with his prejudices, I know he won't cos the stories will always have him written as the hero solving the problems, but you see what I mean my confidence in him as a portrayal as the Doctor is undermined.

Great stuff, I really do prefer these Earth bound episodes. This series is definitely living up to all the hype.

Good episode and the two parts are for me the strongest of the series so far. Loved the ending bits, I was smiling as much as the Doctor at the end! As for next weeks, I know it has the Slavine but it actually looks okay from the trailer.
