I wonder if Jennifer Garner will return for season 5.

After the appalling season 4 (so far) I dont hold out much hope for it.

I'll be the first to say I was wrong if it turns around in the second half of the season...but I doubt it will

So far season 4 has got the highest viewing figures, but I have to agree it has been awful so far bar one or two episodes.

I'm sure I read last year she had signed up for a few seasons (I seem to recall upto and including season 6, but I might be completely off track and imagining it all ), provided the show is picked up each season of course.

Looks like it as.....

(From aint-it-cool)

David Fury, the guy who’s been churning out all the best “Lost” scripts, just closed a lucrative deal to join Tim Minear on "The Inside" for six episodes.
He's also signed on as the new co-executive producer on "24," helping to ruin Jack Bauer's fifth day.

I have just block watched seasons 1-3 in the last six weeks. Eating humble pie due to the amount of criticism I gave it in the past (after only seeing 4 episodes when it first aired, then deciding to star all over again and enjoying the show). Season 4 is on the whole, awful compared to the above average season 3 and the highly entertaining seasons 1 and 2. Its hard to believe the Americans are enjoying the Mission: Impossible style cast and single episode stories.

Why not have

Garners movie career has stuttered (however temporary) after the Elektra disaster, but the introduction of
may have been an idea of JJ, just in case a replacement was needed, should Jennifer set the Hollywood box office on fire.

The show would improve if they killed off either
or all of them.

They are not likely to tinker with the show now viewing figures are higher than ever. Shame, because it was a very good series before the 4th season.

Hhhmm slightly worrying comments re Alias, I usually wait for the DVDs and usually manage to watch the whole series that way completely spoiler free and I was going to start a thread (spoiler free) asking if season 4 was any good since they changed the format

Saving you the effort, spoiler-free, it's the worst season yet.

Yes, Alias 4th season is the worst yet, but still better than most shows.

Answering other queries above, both 24 & Medium are to have a new series next season..... Now if only Veronica Mars & Carnivale were to get confirmation of a new-series, i'll be very happy indeed.

Thursday morning's Variety reports that HBO has already picked up "Deadwood"
for a third season, but the same piece has this:
Sunday's season finale for "Carnivale" delivered an above-average 2.4
million viewers, but insiders insist the show is not likely to return.

An HBO spokeswoman said a decision has not yet been reached. "Carnivale"
creator-exec producer Daniel Knauf, however, has already begun developing a
comedy series project for rival pay cablercabler Showtime.
Doesn't look good

That's a shame. I remember season 3 being mostly regarded as "under par" by the fans and Abrams claimed he'd been a little distracted by other projects (Lost) but intended to 'fix' it this season. Looks like the cure was worse than the disease, and Abrams isn't some TV-god that turns everything he touches to gold after all.

perhaps due to the sporadic nature of how tv is produced in america the current season of Alias is doing better because its more self contained???
and other people who would not normally watch it are tuning into because its become cooler to say "yeah I watch Alias".

I've just finished my season 3 box set which was really good. shame to hear its gone downhill.....

I'd like to see vaugh killed off though!!!
