I never heard of them until after I had finished the last book but from what I can remember there isn't any major connections, just some fleeting mentions. To be honest I would finish the main ones then go to the novellas.

Speaking of that, I have only read the first two - must get around to the 3rd.

Cool, I'll probably keep them until I'm caught up and going crazy with the wait for the Winds of Winter

Interesting reveal today of one of the secret new POV characters in A Dance With Dragons. Quite a cool one, and not somebody I expected:

Interesting.

I really have to read Feats for Crows again - I thought he had already met his maker

This book takes place alongside A Feast for Crows, not after it.

I'm thinking of getting Game of Thrones for my Kindle and was just wondering what the general opinion on the book and the series is?

Very good reads. Takes stamina and patience (especially for the wait between books!)

The first early review for A Dance with Dragons is out. Apparantly it's full of spoilers, so I'm avoiding it. The site I'm linking to here provides a link to review, and a spoiler-free summary of the general opinion of the review.

I am guessing the paperback will be quite some time away?

Usually it's about a year on these things. Hopefully it'll come out on Kindle alongside the hardback.

Just picked up ACOK after having crammed the first book before the show started. Loved AGOT and am waiting on the second one for a little while but my God, the text has gotten even smaller! Gonna destroy my eyes as my main window for reading is in dim light right before bed, haha

Just a little past halfway in A Storm of Swords, I think I'm going to have to put the book down for a while.

It is, but the hardback is £12.50 on Amazon and the Kindle is £15!

To be expected, unfortunately. Caitlin Moran's new book is out tomorrow in paperback at £6 and Kindle at £10.

I have no idea what publishers think they're doing. At this rate people will just download an electronic version for free and wait until they can buy the paperback for cheap later if they feel so inclined.

That said, £15 isn't too bad. The RRP of the fifth Dark Tower when it finally arrived in hardback was £25!

Hey ho, I just pre-ordered the Kindle version. £2.50 for the convenience of it appearing on my Desire HD on the morning of release (presumably?).

Kindle price does offend me, but it is going to be far more practical than reading the huge hardback for me, so I can see myself doing likewise and biting the bullet
