Any news on the R4? Someone must have bought it! I'm about to grab S2 and can't decide between R1 starburst and the new R4.

Just came across the above review for Season 1 R4 (I'm assuming these are the sets currently being sold, if I'm wrong someone speak up!).

Skimmed thru it: "Unfortunately, most of the extras are brief and lacking in much substance. This is compounded by the fact that this box set does not have any commentaries associated with it."

The complete season 4 box set will be out in R2 DVD from Contender in October. The set will include all the extras from the international releases, including the audio commentaries on the R4's.

Got the Season 2, Vol 1 Starburst edition thru the door this morning - got to say I'm becoming more and more impressed with these Starbursts with each new release!

Particularly enjoyed the Re:Union episode (aka the original cut of Dream A Little Dream) and the rest of the extras are excellent as well. Only minor gripe is that there are just a couple of commentaries this time.

Anyway off to order Season 2, Vol 2 now

It's interesting what they say about problems with the 2-sided discs. I have a problem with my copy of Starburst volume 3 (the final set for season 1), right near the end of Family Ties (the season finale) it locks-up for about 2 minutes.

Anyone else had any issues with these discs?

Backtrack thru the thread a little and you'll find other peoples comments on issues with these discs.

I've been reading and posting in this thread for almost a year, so I've kept up to date with the views on the various releases, including the Starburst ones.

Anyway, I've read back through the thread and can only find one reference to any kind of issue with the Starburst discs, and that was a stuttering image, possibly relating to NTSC/PAL. My problem was a major lock-up that crashed the DVD player, and affected about two minutes of one episode.

I've got Starburst 2.3 incoming - will post on here when I get it and give it a look.

Can't say I've had any probs with any of the Starburst discs so far tho.

Oh dear, these discs are looking a bit flakey then. Was there anything visible on the disc that might make it go away if cleaned? There wasn't on mine.

No scratches or dirt, though when I took the disc out and played it again, it froze in a slightly different place. I was able to fast forward and get past it.

I have just bought the first five Starburst volumes, will have to make sure I run them through the computer when I get them, got a piece of software which can scan a whole DVD in afew minutes and will detect any faults.

Also, dont suppose anyone wants the R2 Volume releases of Season 1 and 2 do they?

English? I was bit skeptical because ADV don't put subtitles on their non anime releases, esp those first releases of Farscape.

Ta for info,

Yep, English subtitles. I can only imagine that earlier releases of Farscape without subtitles attracted enough complaints that putting them on the Starburst editions was a no-brainer. Had the Starburst editions not had subtitles, I wouldn't have bought them.
