Oi!
I was worried there that Amazon had changed the spec or something!
(you are just referring to the mini-series aren't you?)

Yep; the deluxe sets come in big boxes; and I just found the ref. number covered by the price sticker ; it's 3.4, so I'm passing it on. (at least that gives me a reason not to pile more boxes on my bookshelf. )

I'm thinking of cancelling my order for the season 3 boxset, selling my seasons 1 and 2 and ordering this. Can anyone confirm if this is definately the season boxes all together or the original releases?

Tis the purpose of this thread to find an answer that very question

So who's gonna buy it then and tell the rest of us

Looking at the picture on amazon, if it is accurate then it looks too long to contain 4 season boxes as they are not that wide. It could just be a mock up of the artwork and not to scale however.

Wouldn't hurt Amazon to offer slightly more info seeing as they are the only supplier to offer this set.

October 2005!!!!!

Does anyone know if Contender will be releasing the new Peacekeeper Wars mini-series?

If not, then this is very unfair and I may well have to go for the R1 release of season 4 as I cannot wait 12 months.

Perhaps if we all got onto Contender, they might bring out season 4 and the mini-series in say, spring next year?

I've yet to actually buy any Farscape DVDs, so might opt for R1 since the complete series (including the mini-series) will be available sooner.

Any views on the picture quality of the R1s? Are the extras identical??

Might not be up to them.
Even if it is, the current deal with Amazon (big boxset) could have some restrictions.

Hi, same-boat guy.
Dunno about the mini-series, (but I presume this is originally film / PAL sourced (Australian), so it'll be preferable on R2 / R4) as for;

- look at the firtst post! - R2 is preferable due to containing ALL the extras from both other regions, and being in the original PAL. Not only that, but the season-sets have even more than the original releases. (as far as the first two seasons are concerned)

Will it be the new Complete collection discs (and thus combine the extras from the R1 and R4 releases as with the last 2 Complete Season releases)?
IIRC when I was researching this, there were comments about the encoding on R2 also being better (possibly due to more space on the larger number of DVD9 discs)

If the only thing going against the R2 release is the release dates (if you're looking at the Amazon boxset, even that's not really a problem), I'm happy to start with them. A later release is probably what help ensure we get the extra extras from other regions, too.

Looks like it's best to wait until the Amazon exclusive set comes out and decide then.

Well; Amazon replied "See our product page for more information on this title.."

So I guess that's all the info we're going to get after contender's slightly more useful info to Badmutha (see post 15) until someone is actually able to purchase the thing.

It's like nobody knows/cares that this is their pet 'exclusive' release: Don't know nothing. Don't say nothing. Don't advertise nothing. Hide under the bedsheets and hope all the nasty questions go away.

Yes. Amazon were utterly useless and uninformative when I e-mailed them about this exclusive release too.

I don't know anything about Farscape but if you can list some very basic questions for me I'll get onto them and get some answers.

1) Are the releases in the new Amazon exclusive 4 series boxset the same content as the recent complete series releases (updated/more extras) or are they the same as the older 2-disc sets?

2) And confirmation that the series 4 release included in the new Amazon exclusive boxset is going to be the same in content as the yet to be released complete series 4 set.

That's about all we need to know yes?

Pretty much everything about the box set but there's other questions that need answering:

Also, have Contender enquired about obtaining the rights to release the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series?

If so, will there be a further "complete series" box incorporating The Peacekeeper Wars further down the line?

Plus: how long is the thing?

But, yes: (assuming info from Amazon) just knowing if it's the same as the series (1,2,3,4) sets (or if more) is all we need / can hope for.
However; I'm already assuming:

this is exactly the same as having all the season sets stuck together.

While confirmation / exact specs would be nice, I don't see any extra info as forthcoming.
In fact; assuming the Contender info is correct, shouldn't the focus now be on comparing the S3 and S4 sets to the R1 and R4 versions?

It's seasons 1 to 4 (inclusive) and it's the single versions not the boxsets. The same goes for Season 4. That means that there's no commentary but all the usual extras are there.

The question about the size of thing came too late but you can probably work it out from knowing the above?

Cancelled my order with Amazon. Thank's to Aroma for digging up the info on this set before it was posted.

Received my season 3 complete set this morning and am looking forward to getting stuck in. I really don't think we are going to have to wait until the end of 2005 for a season 4 complete set as there really is no reason to make us wait this long.
