The Kennedys miniseries April 2011

Anyone else going to watch this 8 hour mini series from Joel Surnow and Jon Cassar ('24')? I'm looking forward to it after all the controversy!
It starts in the US on April 3rd (on Reelzchannel) and in the UK on April 7th (on History). It appears that the US gets 8 hour long episodes whilst we get 4, 2 hour episodes.
It was produced by and meant to air on History in the US but for some reason they decided not to show it once it was done! So it's either really bad or they bowed to some kind of pressure from somewhere! My guess is the latter.
The cast seems quality (well, apart from Katie Holmes and her wonk face).

Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy
Katie Holmes as Jacqueline Kennedy
Barry Pepper as Robert F. Kennedy
Tom Wilkinson as Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.
Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Sinatra

The Kennedys miniseries April 2011

Sounds good. Because Joel Surnow is involved can we expect some 24 style split screen tension during the Cuban Missile Crisis?

According to this is was pulled by History US parent company. The BBC are going to show it as 8 parts.

It is on the 7th, UK History are already running trailers for it and have been for a few weeks now, what makes you say that ?

The BBC are then showing it later in the year.

Slightly OT.

Has anyone seen the 1983 mini series "Kennedy" starring Martin Sheen?

Would you recommend it?

It's a series I remember for some reason - I don't think I've seen it since it was on originally and I was only 10; I have memories of it being good... and keep wondering about revisiting it

Hi guys. Nice to see some conversation about The Kennedys, I’m currently working on the HISTORY™ UK premiere.

Firstly everyone seems a bit confused about when it’s airing so I just wanted to clarify and say that it is showing April 7th at 9pm on the HISTORY.

I’ve seen a few episodes and while there’s no split screen action for the Cuban Missile Crises it is covered and it is gripping!

Looking forward to hearing your feedback on the show once it airs next week.

It did air last night. It's available via iTunes (and dodgy equivalent) but there's no scene release for it.

Saw a trail for this earlier and it looks interesting...Kinnear really looks like JFK from certain angles.

I don't know why they had to change the captions at the start of episode 1 (UK version compared to US version) unless it was a mistake of course? Instead of 'Election Eve' and 'Election Day' over 2 scenes, they had 'Election Day' twice which was nonsensical especially as in the first scene was the night before the polls opened!
I know, I know I'm a

I enjoyed it, thought Katie Holmes was miscast but the other 3 were excellent.
