Afterall its revealed that it was a plain old serial killer abducting the women and taking bits out of their brains. That's one remarkable coincidence given that Peter and Newton both happen to be in town when this starts. I was thinking that I missed something at the end revealing how Newton had manipulated the man into taking the fall. Except that didn't happen.

Part 1 of a 2 part finale so always going to be more set up than anything else.

Walternate's plan appears to be to save his universe possibly at the expense of his sons life and almost certainly be destroying our universe.

Confirmed that Walter is the cause of the problems in AltEarth with its lack of coffee missing California multiple incidents and quarantine zones.

If I've worked out the times correctly the Cortexiphan experiments started almost immediately after Walter kidnapped Peter, implying him and Bell foresaw the need for soldiers capable of travelling across the universe.

Curious why AltOlivias tattoo was so important.

Just saw episode 21 (where Peter goes it alone), after skipping the musical episode (took 10 minutes of it and could take no more)

Another really good episode I thought, and Pete got to show he could do it on his own!!

I didn't quite get the ending though:

They tracked down Newton's hideout and then Peter catches the other guy who lived there all his life and admitted the killings - I assume he'd been brainwashed by the bad guys just so Peter was left questioning his own sanity - until the final payoff

So who now owns Massive Dynamics? How soon before Peter twigs that Liv is actually alt!Liv? Or will alt!Liv realise that she's been lied to by Walternate and that our universe isn't the den of iniquity she's been lead to believe? How soon before they rescue our Liv?

On 2.23 is it sad that the thing I loved most about it was "the man of steel returns" comic cover on the the wall?

Otherwise - quite predictable ending, but enjoyable nonetheless. Nimoy was excellent, though, and it's such a shame that this is his swan song.

I really enjoyed this season the finale went out with a wimper but i like the set up of altoliver.

I thought it a bit lame that alt universe needs Peter dead thus taking away the argument for Peter to not want to come back

The Alt universe wants him dead? I missed that. I thought that they just need him to use the machine to destroy 'our' universe. Does it kill him in the process.

I'm also not sure where this machine came from (Bell's design?) and why it's genetically coded to a guy that's been missing for 20 years.

Other than that I loved it, glad the Olivia's were actually at odds and love the fact AltOlive has infiltrated 'our' side. It was fairly obvious when the switch happened though. The quarantine zones were great too.

For Season 3 I hope Olivia starts being able to demonstrate and control the abilities which they have been aluding to more and more. Being shut up in a dark room will hopefully allow her the time to focus her 'powers'. What has she actually been able to do so far? - defuse a bomb with lots of flashing lights with her mind, perceive objects from the other side and aid in crossing over to rescue Peter. Oh and some pyro-kinesis as a child.

I dislike the whole infiltration thing, it was so obvious it was coming but I hoped they'd do something else. So long as it doesn't drag on past a few eps it may be tollerable, but if it runs the whole season it'll be amazingly nngh.

Were they saying liv had to open the crack and use bellpower to get them between worlds or that the crack was already there from when they travelled over? If she had to open it, how did altliv do it?

Much like alias and lost, the two good seasons have been done now so it'll be downhill all the way until the final season turns into a complete pile of poo that makes no sense at all ;/

Just caught up with the final block of episodes over the past few days, and (Brown Betty aside) loved it. My favourite program so far this season - although I still have loads to cath up on.
