I wasn't convinced by seeing the angels moving - When Amy had her eyes shut it at least made sense but we saw one move it's hand earlier (when the doctor was screwdriving the crack on the secondary flight deck)

To me the way they dealt with the angels felt that they got lucky rather than the doctor having had a cunning plan - but it did all make sense so I guess it's a minor complaint

Speculation on who River killed - got to be the
really hasn't it ?

I wonder if Amy is going to be a crazy stalker type, when we saw all the dolls at the end of the first ep and her behaviour at the end of tonights it did suggest she might be.

In that rather strange scene where The Doctor abruptly returns and keeps telling Amy to 'Remember what he told her when she was 7' and kisses her forehead he's wearing his jacket... except the Angels had previously grabbed him by his jacket collar and he wriggled out of it to escape and in the next scene where you see the Doctor, River and the Bishop and he hasn't got it on, nor for the rest of the episode either (just checked on iPlayer).

Yes, that's why i loved it, no deus machina or wave of a screwdriver, he seems much more like the 'fly by the seat of my pants' doctor and doesn't seem to know how things will turn out and annoying know-it-all

That's too obvious, must be that unless they intend to throw a curveball later

To be honest my first thought it was that she wasn't behaving herself and was either posessed or something else has taken effect

I think that's who we are supposed to think it is, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was someone else. Whatever happened, even if it is him, I doubt the circumstances are quite so black and white. If it was him, why would...

When he met young Amy, before the fish fingers and custard, he told her "I'm the Doctor. Do everything I tell you, don't ask stupid questions and don't wander off."

Yeah, cos she went from horny young women to insane nympho who wont take no for an answer. The first is good but the second is a problem.

I am really loving this new series. I got the feeling that wasn't 'our' Amy at the end, the whole coming on to him scene seemed a little too forced. Maybe the Angel hasn't totally gone, maybe something to do with the crack and time rewriting itself? Who knows, but it's fun to speculate again and not worry about them resorting to a big reset button.

Watched the Confidential afterwards and by golly, whenever Matt Smith talks about Karen Gillen or spends time with her it's so clear he is one smitten kitten!

Loved it...as I have the whole series so far. It had me genuinely thinking through the episode about how they might escape, what consequences the Doctor's actions might have whereas in the past, although enjoying Who, I always knew it would be resolved with some kind of deus ex machina.
There was also enough tension and action going on to stop me from doing other things (like making tea, surfing the net) whilst the program was on - and that is rare for me.
I didn't mind the end with Amy all over the Doctor. I was just thinking "go on Son no point arguing with her".
And, to echo a point above, the comic timing and generally good writing is a real plus point. I had quite a few "yeah!" and "LOL!" moments.

Snogging her (albeit on camera) must get him pent up

Great spot. We will be seeing that scene again I reckon.

Yeah. At first I was thinking "cack continuity", but then I was all "hang on a minute..." I'd suggest it was a deliberate subtlety.

thinking about it at the end of 5x01 there was the scene of young Amy sitting on her suitcase waiting for the Doctor and the re materialisation sound, but in the current timeline he never came back to young Amy... so he could have returned and said something then that will play out in the back half of the season

What a terrific series this is. Two great leads, brilliant stories and some very good comic moments. Without doubt this is the best thing on the box right now.

I'll tip my hat if that's the Doctor from another timeline and not just a continuity error (I can't see how they could have made such a big error like that). When you first see it, you assume he's just returning to comfort her, but it could equally be him returning to different points trying to stop whatever is causing the crack in time/space.

Ooooh...exciting stuff! I'll be gutted if it's just an error now!

I doubt it's an error - they made a big deal about him losing his jacket (well, quite a subtle deal, but the shot did linger on the Angel holding the jacket for a second or two).

There must be something to it. I can't believe for a second its a mistake simply because I can't believe all the people on the show would have missed it. Its just too clever to be a mistake.... I hope! Loving this series, its a definite purchase on blu-ray or DVD when it comes out.

It can't be a mistake for one obvious reason : what he says to her makes no sense whatsoever and has no resolution within the episode.

Plus having rewatched a bit, I think he has a different watch too.
