Turntable recommendations

Hive Mind

My wife is looking to buy me a turntable for my birthday, but I havent owned one for about 30 years.

This is currently the favourite but am unsure as there are a lot of reviews out there.

Alternative is this one

Any ideas or suggestions? Looking at around £200 (tops). For my PC I use a Harmon Kardon wireless speaker, id probably look to plug this into my Onkyo Amp

Don't sweat - either of those are perfect reintroductions to the format. Just check your amp has a phono input (or check if either of these models has a built-in phono stage).

I bought a Primary E not long ago and I love it. I've actually got the Phono version, which is about £50 extra but has a built in phono stage and an external power supply (which many hifi buffs consider better)

I've never had any problems with the belt, either when removing LPs or changing the speed - and that does seem to be about the only criticism I've seen of it.

I've got the Primary E Phono as well and I've had no issues with mine at all. I have been tempted in the past to upgrade but I don't play Vinyl that often, my overpriced boxsets just nicely on their shelves giving me a warm fuzzy feeling inside

Yeah, either of those will do you fine, though it's worth noting the AT-LP3 is fully automatic so you don't have to get up after the record finishes.

Hearing the continual “clunk-clunk” at the end of a record is part of the joy.

I’ve a Project Debut Phono I’ve had for years, the only reason I’d change is to get one without a phono stage as the one in my pre amp is supposedly better. But it took 20 years to get that far, dive in now and enjoy the vinyl.
