Bad refereeing decisions do not even themselves out - it is the biggest myth in football.

I know what you mean about some clubs getting favours - the things United get away with

Presumably you are referring to LFC's entry into the CL in 05/06 ? Maybe you should make yourself aware of the FA's stance just 12 months earlier before casting aspersions

Absolutely solid. Our best team performance in ages, taking the chances where we've been so shoddy recently. Without crazy decision making in the Cup, we'd have done that to them there as well. I can't understand why we've been underperforming in the other games recently.

Arsenal look in real trouble for top 4 now, and I'd rather be us - even with all the fixtures building up - than Liverpool who still can't find their form against the weaker teams. Looking at Spurs goal difference too, I think we've done the whole league a favour today.

But we can't do anything about it, can we? It was a blatant handball for the run-up to the goal, but they still had a chance to defend it. How many times has that gone against us at Chelsea? How about the infamous off-side from years ago? How long do we go back? Refereeing is pretty crap and you'll always take your own teams side. I used to moan about it, now I realise what's the point?

Who cares what the FA think? We all played the season based on the rules, then the rules were changed to suit you.
[edit] removed for unnecessary emotive language when talking to the snowflakes.

Erm because the FA decide the rules and we all played that season based on those rules - rules which a few months earlier stated that regardless of where a team finishes, if that team wins the CL then it will automatically become one of England's entrants the following season - a rule which mysteriously got forgotten in June 2005.

So if anything - the rules were changed potentially at LFC's expense.

For goodness sake, this is the Utd thread, how Liverpool got into the CL over a decade ago doesn't belong here.

Great win today. Wasn't able to watch it, but it looks like we got our mojo back without Zlatan. Jose had an interesting decision to make on him - he had scored a shed load, but misses so many chances and ruins a lot of attack due to his poor hold up play and lack of pace. I suppose it depends of whether we can get a decent target man?

Love how in the days after the game the media are reporting on illness in the Chelsea camp following a team meal - they didn't train on Friday because of it. Mourinho asking for a favour from an old restauranteur he knows?

Well, we had a short spell when we should have finished this tie off...but of course we let them back in with farcical defending and have slipped nicely back into ******'***** mode!

...be amazed if we're in the semi draw tomorrow...hopeless!!!

Useless, absolutely useless. We are playing the losing game, at this moment I can only see one team winning & it ain't us. We pass back endlessly, a few times instead of turning & running or passing forward we pass back, that breaks up a chance & lets them get back up field. Mourinho needs to change something & change it fast. We need at least 3 goals to be safe with the away goal & it doesn't look like we will get that.

Lingard off for Fellaini...no surprise, yet again Lingard fails to reach the level required of a senior player...can see him being shipped out over the summer!

Lingard has scored in two cup finals! He's a very good squad option, ala Park for example, and is a home grown player. There are many other players in this squad that deserve to be criticised before we get to Lingard.

Tonight he did nothing. Yes, he's scored some excellent and important goals but he consistently fails to impress for the majority of his time on the pitch...I don't want him to go as it's great to have homegrown players, just wouldn't be surprised!

...at least he was a million miles better than Pogba!

...extra time... ...we are the better team now but they can still end it in a second. God help us if it goes to pens

We need two top strikers in the summer. We need better defence & the midfield is woeful.

Having just put him on £100k a week he isn't going anywhere.

He's not worth £100k a week, no where near good enough at the moment.
