Like 55 minutes into the game today. I know your point, but I still think he should go.

Rooney is like Gazza. He's often the worst player on the pitch, but when he's good he's the best we've got. He has to go.

Rashford is a no for me. All the noises suggest he's a sensible lad but I'd rather he was given a bit of time to develop before all the revolting England fans tear him to pieces when he misses a penalty or whatever. Club over country every day.

Rashford goes. Really pleased for him. Considering Rooney will likely play as a midfielder and Sturridge is a crock, he has a chance of some minutes. Kane and Vardy to be first choice.

What an astonishing 3 months for him.

Look like we are signing Eric Bailey (whom i'd never heard of until a few days ago). 22 year old Centre Back, can play RB as well. Looks strong and tall. Jose tackling the problem we had with Blind at the back. Good to get business done early, but Ł30m seems just an average price these days.

Sad thing is, Blind has been one of our better players over the last two years, so I'd hate to see him go. Jones on the other hand...

I think Blind has been excellent. In a dominant team, that doesnt need to defend much, he adds a lot. If we are to actually try and attack teams next year, I think we will need better all out defenders.

He's an excellent player to have in the squad - bit like O'shea used to be.

I think he's better than that. He's been playing out of position for pretty much his whole United career.

Blind needs to stay. Rojo and probably (sadly) Jones are the two that are toast.

Nice to see us getting moving quickly. Still feels a bit odd that Jose is in charge, but if the press are right, he's been working on this summer of business since December. If so, he'll already know who we can get and who we can't.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Villarreal defender Eric Bailly, subject to the 22-year-old receiving a work permit.

Promising young player. Good to get some business done early. I assume Jose has been watching players for 6 months, he should be well prepared for this summer's transfer activity.

Seems a potentially great singing from all that is being said - I think I've only seen Villareal a couple of times last season, so I'm having to trust the opinion of others on his ability, but this is the type of signing I really like - promising, with great potential and bought at a good age to develop further.

This is the type of (reasonably) big money signing I like us making - a good start to the summer.

The Manchester Utd Thread 2015/2016

Edited - as saw you were quoting.

He has all the right ingredients. Don't think many people will have seen him.

Or potentially superb signing. Or good. Or just okay.

Really? Not hearing anything, that'll be the last we hear of him then. Impossible standards to hit and a transfer embargo. He'll be gone by Christmas

Wise move not rushing to make any new signings; we need to assess the work permit situation.

Bale might be available, RM haven't listed him as one of their 3 non-EU players..

Surely that would depend on a a future government doing something no UK government has done in the past (that I remember). Namely, apply work permit rule changes retrospectively ?
