I can't see how the club could handle it differently when a third party is leaking things to the press

...must admit, I haven't been his biggest fan but he was the best United player out there on Saturday...he really made the difference!

I agree, but the no of times he misplaced passes was not good enough to show he can be a regular midfielder, but at least he was trying.

I thought Fellaini had a good game. For Fellaini...

It could be worse. They could have brought Mourinho in as Co-Manager with Van Gaal and wait for him to resign.

So its finally official. Very dignified statement from LVG, almost makes me forget about some of the football these past 2 years.
Thanks for the FA Cup, Rashford, B-J, Fosu-Mensah and Martial etc.
Really tough job after Moyes, who didn't have the balls to make any decisions. He cleared out a great deal of dead wood, but his football is clearly outdated and he wasnt the right fit. Hope he enjoys his retirement.

He will always get a cheer and a warm welcome at OT, which might not have been the case if he carried on for another year.
I hope Mourinho will 'get' why he wasn't chosen on the two occasions before. It is an opportunity for him to show a different style to his management as much as it is for the club to get back to winning ways. It's clear he wasn't a shoe-in appointment from within the club and most fans I've spoken to have said they are far from ecstatic about his appointment, but can understand why we've gone for him.
If he gets this right, and plays things right, this will be the last job he'll need in football.

The Manchester Utd Thread 2015/2016
I can't see him changing, he will do things his way, I really don't get what people are concerned about, if it's attitude and antics, we had ******* Fergie ffs, he wasn't an angel but we were fine with that cause he was our manager, if its style of play its just rubbish spouted by haters.
If he comes, and I hope he does, he is in my opinion the best manager we could hire and I simply can't wait for next season to kick off!
Also, no idea where it's come from but people are suggesting G Nev will be joining him....

Yeah, the prat cleared out one of the top strikers in the German league & ended up with Manchester United scoring 49 goals, making it their lowest ever Premier League total. I TOLD YOU SO. He was the worst ever manager. I am not going to stick up for Moyes, but even he with less money & a Champions league to fight for did better. I wished Moyes well but not van hell.

Gary jumped in too soon with Valencia. I hope he does well in the future.

A Gary Neville - Jose Mourinho combination would certainly give the haters something to jump on!

It's all noise at the mo, Jose does tend to have a club man on his team though, Keane also being mentioned along with Brian Kidd and QC, so basically anyone! I would personally like G Nev, Keane for me would be too much.
Rui Faria getting a lot of stick on the cafe, apart from being a bit mental on the touch line what's the issues with him?

Brian Kidd! He must be a pensioner by now... He has also been sat on City's bench for years. No thanks.
There is no way Keane and Jose would work longer than 5 mins. Neville, yes could be a sensible option, what is OGS up to these days, or Joyce who has done such a good job with the youngsters.

Keep Roy Keane away from OT! Is there anywhere he has been post-United that he has not caused huge arguments or done something dickish.
Besides, his dogs won't walk themselves.

I'd agree, I think Jose will be enough of a kick up the back side, don't need Roy wading in!
