I didn't read it as excusing the supporters at all - but who, either club side or police side (or both) thought it was a good idea to go down a main street at an away fixture that close to kick off are also morons.

He dismissed the behaviour, questioning that it took place. Thankfully the club have backtracked on his comments.
It'll be interesting to see if the police advised getting there super early. It's one thing to expect congestion, another completely to expect the bus to be attacked.

From what quite a few said on the radio the United bus was around 100 yards behind the West Ham one, so they both arrived at around a similar time.
I've been to plenty of games in the past where you've seen team buses arrive or leave and they're not been attacked.

But last night wasn't a normal game - was bound to be a lot more people than usual and drinking earlier than normal etc
The point I am making is once again seemingly the police do a **** poor job at a football match - reading accounts of people who were there, the police cordon off a boisterous, alcohol fuelled crowd blocking the road off causing a crush and panic.
Then send a riot van through to clear a path for the coach behind it, fans have nowhere to go, coach gets stuck in a crowd of ****** off, packed football fans - just sounds like lunacy.
The handful of moronic fans should be dealt with and banned, but questions need to be asked elsewhere.

United are blameless...and, judging by last night's performance, clueless! 
...roll on May 21st so we can put this season's disappointments behind us, have a nice relaxing summer and prepare for new disappointments from August!

I think if he gets fourth he will stay or go if he doesn't, it still remains to be seen who they'd take on. They really don't seen keen on JM, if they were I think he'd already be in the job. Giving the job to an up and comer hasn't worked under Moyes, so it remains to be seen what other candidates are out there.
Maybe sack before the final, give it to Giggs, keep him on if they win.

Top work by the security today, hope everybody is ok. Certainly the most exciting thing to happen at OT before half time this season.
Rearranged fixture could be meaningless anyway if City win. Suppose we could stick out a second string team if it is arranged in Cup week. Can't see them doing it after because of the Euros.
