Star Wars - The Clone Wars series 2 (spoilers)

Still really liking this series and was particularly impressed with the ending of the second episode (spoiler ahead) where the bad guy escapes dressed as a trooper, but the show doesn't explicitly show that - it just lets the viewer work it out. There are many prime time shows where the writers would never have gotten away with that.

I'd still like a bit more forshadowing to Anakin as Vader now and again, but otherwise it's still 10 times more fun than any of the prequels...

How many times can Asoka through complete stupidity get herself captured before Anakin slices her in half?

ahhh, i like Asoka. But yeah great opener and this series continues to dump on the prequels from a very great hight! How could they get this show so right and the movies so wrong??

They seemed to have swapped ratios again and I'm sure after a couple of episode of season 1 it went to 2.40:1 to mimic the movies .. Have to say it looks really good in HD and it is so much better than the prequels probably because Lucas has nothing to do with them

"Sky Movies in the UK broadcasts the series uncropped; Cartoon Network HD here in the States crops the video left & right to fill the screen vertically at 16:9. And they plop their logo on top of it, to boot."

"Now, as many of you already know, the show appeared in a cropped form on American Cable-TV, but most of the episodes aired on the British Cable channel, SkyHD, in their true Aspect Ratio. The only episodes that didn't air in their true Aspect Ratio were the first ten. So these episodes, are only available currently in a cropped Aspect Ratio of 1.78. However, the film and all episodes were originally created in the 2.35 aspect ratio"

That explains it I thoguht it looked different, Think I'll wait for season 2 to been shown on Sky

Impressive opener, quite dark and they seemed to have dropped most of the kiddie humour. Good ending as well. Anakin is really getting quite cocky isnt' he.

Well it's not that he has nothing to do with them, but more that he'll be responsible for signing off designs, themes and stuff, which has has, admittedly a very good eye for. Then he leaves the bulk of the writing/directing to other people. Which is basically why Empire works so well and the Prequels work so poorly.

Starts in two weeks time on Sky. I'll have to wait until next year for it to hit Cartoon Network, but at least I'll have season 1 on Blu-Ray soon to tide me over.

Seemed to have missed 2x03 somehow.

What have they done to 2x04? The animation is square, sluggish, unlifelike and just looks as if it's being generated on the worst pc graphics software ever. It's completely lost any feeling it had.

Really enjoying this series. Some real stand out episodes (Yoda leading the platoon was amazing, and I loved the one where the two troopers run into a little girl on a war-torn planet and have to protect her).

Looking for any news on the second season. Should be awesome.

Nice to see Shy are showing this in the correct ration I know it sounds a bit geeky but it feels more like Star Wars when it mimics the movies ratio
