Loco 'My Fake Baby'

Did anyone else see this on C4 last night?

"Exploring the lives of women who spend hundreds, and sometimes thousands of pounds on life-like baby dolls."

Entertaining but disturbing stuff!

Yes, some seriously strange people. The kid in NZ made me laugh when his gran told him it was a baby and he said "No, it's a doll numb nuts" As for the woman in the hotel room nervously waiting for her delivery who said something like "This is going to be a long labour"

Well that's hardly normal behaviour either

Does it have to be better or worse to be able to discuss it?

When the real doll one was on, people discussed it and ridiculed the blokes involved, so I don't see any reason to think that the people in this thread think this is worse.

What made me laugh was the woman carefully putting the doll in the baby car seat! Just throw it in the boot, woman!

yeah she was a real crazy. The way it was presented and how she was talking I thought her daughter and grandson had died!
Instead of spending a shed load on that doll why didn't she take an extended break to NZ and get to know her know grown up grandson?!
Her husbands reaction did make me chuckle though!

The lad's mum had died and I think his granny had taken it badly which is why she bought this doll (probably took her back to happier times when her daughter was still alive). However, this is a seriously weird way to behave and to then actually show the doll to the now older grandson that it was modelled on!!!!!

I would guess that she doesn't get on with the boy's dad and he probably moved to NZ to get his son away from mad granny!

I thought the whole point was that the daughter survived cancer and was happily settled in Kiwi Land - that's what made the whole thing so sick wasn't it?

It's the people on this show that are probably capable of Kidnap and child abduction.

That's what I thought, so it's good they're doing this than abducting kids

I want a black and white sort of leopard skin bottle holder as I too found it the most beautiful thing in the world.

It's on 4OD (channel 4 on demand).

Echo what the poster above says about these women not being far removed from the types of psychos that might abduct a real child. I bet young Harry is glad he's on the other side of the world from his numbnuts (his words) grandmother.

Couldn't understand why the spineless husbands were just letting their psycho wives have these dolls. Especially the dodgy hair woman who was spending £300 on a hideous bottle holder in Harrods .

As someone who fills their life with rescue animals, and am of childbearing age and don't feel the need to have one, I often get negative comments about my lifestyle choice.

After watching that, I have never felt so normal

What about a DVD on Rooting you reborn baby!
