Mourinho is thinking of his next contract, so they say.

Just as a reminder, Utd set up to get that result. It wasn’t an off day, it was just what Mourinho wanted.

That's the issue. Not going to win the league by setting up to draw with mid-table teams.

What happened to if you want to win the league you have to beat your rivals, I'm guessing he's done OK with his tactics.

If we'd nicked it - if Lukaku had scored that fairly easy chance, for example - it would have been a masterclass in away football.
Whenever Liverpool play these bigger clubs it's always a different Liverpool side to the one that goes away to Watford, so I suppose he was prepping for that.
It wasn't great from either side, for all your possession you could still be playing now and not really have scored.

He's not, he's trying to sit and jab the board in the ribs so they get their chequebook out. Wouldn't you want to manage a team where you never had to work on the players and improve them, you just replaced them?
Sad, but that's European football these days I guess.

Another boring, poor display so far. This & the last game will lose new fans by the drove. I watched Real Madrid & Spurs yesterday, an exciting attacking game. Tonight it was loose balls, poor passing, offside when they didn't need to be offside. Only the last 10 minutes did we pick up.

Well, we look the most likely to score...but I take your point, we're not exciting to watch

Yes a 'classic' goal, better second half.

Missing Pogba. Going away in Europe and winning 1-0 is a good result. We should still remember that this team of Jose’s is pretty new. Solid first, flair later. Even the last 2 matches is better than what’s been served up by Moyes and LVG. Still scored 4 goals four or five times so far this season. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Pep Guardiola has had much the same time. Now City, as much as it hurts me, are like watching the old United. We struggle to win, City do it for fun. We struggled to get a 2-2 draw at Stoke, City put 7 past them for fun. City 5 Liverpool 0. We had the most dreary 0-0 draw at Liverpool.
This is not the United I want to watch. Even in the 70s we were more interesting. I like Mourinho, but our play has to change, & players have to step up or be changed, & if things don't alter, then Morhino will have to learn French.

Pep is playing fantasy football, spunking oil money left right and centre. He's an entertaining manager, but he's never really had to graft for success.
As **** as it was on Saturday, truth is that most United Liverpool matches are dire, although both sides usually try and win. Had we nicked it 0-1 it would have been a genius move by José. Perhaps his time in Italy has rubbed off on him too much. Gazetta della Sport would have raved over that performance.

Didn’t City get off to a flyer last year and end up winning sweet FA?
We have had one of our best starts ever in the PL years, let’s not get hung up over one performance. Ref Benfica - our away record in Europe is bloody awful in recent years, so coming away with 3 points in a really good outcome. We are far better off than under the last two managers.

I actually have more confidence in José getting an away result in Europe than I did Fergie.

I think the free scoring stuff works to an extent when teams seem to let you do so, works a lot like that in Spain, teams just seem to write off the game and concede nine goals.
I'd suggest over the course of the season, Jose and his ability to pick up points will be far more decisive than City's ability to accumulate goal difference.

A really good point. Fergie was horrid away from home in Europe and far more defensive.
For all our flaws, we're the best we've been in the last four years, and there is more to come.

Well, everything I said came true. Will I get an apology from the twits who posted derogatory remarks against me, you bet they won't, they will keep their heads burried in the sand & come up with excuses. Most of our team would not get in any of the top teams. We need two world class strikers. We need a better midfield. This should have been sorted over the last 4 years.
