According to UEFA they are the most indebted club in Europe with a net debt of roughly 540M Euros.

I know it's for the best and i wish him well and I know he'll get a great reception back at OT.
But it's kind of sad to see Rooney in an Everton shirt.

Selling him to a rival as well.
Apparently he really loved Everton and wore Everton pyjamas to bed

It doesn't matter how rich you are if you spend more money than you can generate (which is the criticism thrown at Chelsea), and unlike other teams don't really have some magic money tree to bail it all out at the end.
Let us remember Chelsea balled at the £12m of Agents fees, United didn't.

True. We don't.
We are effectively legally operating with a huge overdraft, whilst generating money that we spend on transfers / wages etc.
We don't have a magic money tree or sugar daddy.

Most of you are talking rubbish. Having debt is not an issue in the slightest, as long as you can service it - which clearly we can. In its simplest terms its just a big mortgage with an appreciating asset. I dont know what the exact figures are, but if Utd have £400m of debt, but worth £2.5bl then clearly that's far better than a club worth £1bn with no debt. Like it or not the Glazers have increased the value of Utd by a phenomenal amount over the past 12 years.
The use of debt, and in particular leveraging are cornerstones to building a business. Utd are the richest club in the world due to the income streams we have, which far outstrip the vast majority of clubs.

It's only a problem when you're giving some sort of "holier than thou" speech regarding other clubs and their spending methods.

Who's money are they spending and who's money are we spending?

After the sort of injury he's had, he would need easing in to whatever team he's playing for. He would not be able to play every week, so actually 6 months at Utd would make sense, and then perhaps move onto the MLS for a couple of years. However he wouldnt be the main man anymore at Utd - so I don't know whether he would accept a squad role.

With Champions league etc, I think there is a big part for Zlatan to play allowing for his injury.

Good signing. CM/DM is very weak, so we have addressed our biggest weakness.

I have a feeling we could still be weak on goals. I hope not. I guess only time will tell.
