Ooh. Good spot. Installing now, hope it doesn't break side loading.

Yep Kodi still working great.
Not much difference with UI. The fonts are slightly smaller/smoother.
Iplayer HD doesn't suffer from stutter anymore but now there's lip sync problems.
Best feature for me is ability to add other Bluetooth devices like keyboard and mouse. Time to get Amiga and C64 emulators going.

Love the new Fire TV. Now got three of them in the house running Kodi and Plex. Very versatile home media solution.

Hmm, my ikono art app redirect thingy (via Llama) seems to have stopped working to launch Kodi. Assume that's the new firmware? Anyone else? I've tried setting it up again but no dice.
Might be time for an alternative method.

That's the one - I read about it but couldn't recall the name. Will look into that when I can, ta.

Can you have Kodi pinned to the front page yet on the Amazon stick, or do you still have to access through the menus?

That's what the above posts are about - accessing it much more easily than via the 'manage installed applications' menu or something.
One method was using a 'sacrificial' app to launch a different one (Kodi) but that seems to have stopped working. There are many other ways of doing it. Think the aforementioned Firestarter is a good one (although I haven't installed that yet). Google Firestarter+Kodi and I presume all will be clear. Think that allows you to assign a button press on the remote to launch an app of your choice - eg: double home launches Kodi.

Thanks. I'm using Kodi on my Shield TV but I have a stick as well and want to use that on another TV, and considering recommending it for my sister but want to make sure it's idiot proof on it first!

I use fireStarter. The box boots to a screen with links to Kodi, Netflix and iPlayer. Took ten minutes to set up and install.

Still works fine for me. I put Kodi on my AFTV, and I'm using something called Ikono TV or something to launch it.

Firestarter is a lot better and will ensure you've always for the latest version of Kodi.
I just put it on the Fire Stick in the Kitchen using this method: -

Even easier!

I might have to try that as the one version of fire starter I have on the second stick is really unstable and renders the stick unusable at times, thanks for the link Rustybin.

I've got firestarter and have it set to automatically boot right into kodi. Home button also loads kodi and double home button jumps back to the amazon section of the firestick.

Realised that my Fire Stick remote won't work now I've paired it with my Shield TV, so the Stick boots up but I can't get to the options to repair it.... doh!

Installed Firestarter last night (while my daughter was badgering me to puts Cars on (again). Couldn't have taken too long cos she was watching her film before she finished her milk (then said 'I want to watch something else now' after 5 minutes).
Really easy (even installed the apk via my phone) and a doddle to set up. Went with the double-home press to launch Kodi.
