Perhaps some alien cuts it off and he grows a new one...

I'm dissappointed Rob Shearman (writer of Dalek) is not on that list. I had heard he was going to be.

Just watched the last Tennant episode....thought it was pretty good overall all. Cribbins was superb and most of the scenes he was in worked emotionally very well.

Still too many annoying points, I guess it really is a RTD thing.

The whole two parter seemed to nick bits and bobs from other sci-fi shows. The canteena segmant was horrific, the cacti aliens were shocking. The Star Wars stlye shooting of the nuclear weapons was appalling. Did we really need to go back and see Mickey and Martha? I really do hope I never have to see Rose again! Unless any of these old characters are reappearing in the new regimes stories, they are best left well alone (apart from Sarah Jane as I guess that is a viable link up)

Still, moaning apart, I enjoyed it. A tad sad that Tennant has gone but looking forward to the new Doctor and hopefully some decent Moffat writing.

Finally, when the Master took over everyone, couldn't he of destroyed Torchwood?

Does anyone have the specials on Blu-Ray yet? I would like to pick them up but i'd be interested to know how the PQ stacks up. I thought the BBC HD broadcasts were pretty poor in that regard, and am wondering if the Blu-Rays are any better.

Her partner was (is?) David Tennant so maybe he could still pull some strings to get her back in the new series. She died in Casualty when that started (in the first episode), so her career there didn't last long!

Daughter of Doctor No 5, (Peter Davison) if I remember rightly. Her name is Georgia Moffett (Moffett being Davison's real name).

With a Moffat now at the helm, what not call in a Moffett to reprise her role

Well Im still quite happily stuck in DVD mode, but for those that have BluRay and have brought the complete specials might want to check them as there have been reports on 'jumpy/jerky' problems.
Im no BluRay expert but this is from another Doctor Who site about the problem:

Anyone else noticed that the blurays are a bit jumpy/jerky occasionally? It's not my player as I've tested on other discs...

Yes, it looks like a frame gets dropped every few seconds, it's very distracting. I believe this is because we've been sold a Blu-Ray set that is basically a US standards conversion, rather than one at the UK frame/field rate. I find it extremely disappointing.
Not sure if this will only have an effect on some players or all of them.

The Blu-ray standard accepts 25fps, but 99.99% of the discs run at 24fps. So there are three things you can do... firstly, you can blend the frames. The Robin Hood Blu-ray did this and it looks totally abysmal. Blending basically kills detail and that's what you're paying for.

Secondly, you can simply slow the material down instead of running 25 frames per second, run 24 instead. Quality is maintained but audio is slowed down to match. Not good.

Finally, you can just drop one frame out of every 25, turning into a standard 24fps. This will retain the quality but on any kind of shot with left/right up/down motion, it will look really bad.

This will affect every player. The Beeb need to sort themselves out and support the proper 25fps of the source material with no compromises.

I didn't notice any jumpiness when watching my Blu Rays over the weekend. Thought they looked pretty stunning to be honest.

I guess this is one of the things you're either perceptible to or not.

just reading this thread and saw the bit about him saying "not ginger". When Ecclesstone was going the Sun ran a story about how Chris Evans was going to be the new Doctor...hence the Ginger bit when Tennant took over.

Torchwood had already been destroyed that is why Naismith managed to get the alien tech in the first place.

Yeah, all that is left of Torchwood is gap-tooth although apparently a 4th season is going ahead.
