Cheers, I'm rubbish at remembering the names. I really should take a notebook with me!

A hornet macro (posted in the macro thread too but that seems dead!)

Cracking set of Robin shots!

Loads of Blue tits around by me at the moment, with a slow shutter speed they are a bit too twitchy for me, oh for some sun!

Blue tits are rampant by me, there's loads of them! They don't stay still long do they?!

They certainly don't hang about, that's a good shot though.

Had a visitor over the weekend:

he took one of the House Sparrows in my back garden but I photographed him with my compact at an angle through a dirty double-glazed window with the sun shining on it so the results weren't all they could be to say the least. The video footage was a little better though I think. He also turned up in the morning when I was feeding the birds and tried to take a Collared Dove (dumb move, they're too big for a male Sparrowhawk!) but they all scattered to leave him sitting bemused on the ground no more than 10-15 feet from me before realising I was there and flying away. Usually it's a female I see, this is the first time I've seen the male although I have seen both male and female on the nearby farm.

Have got a lot of Cormorants on the river here at the moment but they don't like being photographed. This is the best I've managed, not the best angle but the closest shot by far to date.

Quite a number of Tufted Ducks on the river too, and Goosanders as well. These seem to be regular winter visitors, they turned up over at least the last couple of winters when the conditions started getting hard.

Have done very little photography over the last few months and definitely feeling rather rusty!

Nice shots in this thread lately - all impressive but I particularly like the Goldfinch shot.

Not done much lately but did find a waxwing on the weekend
