I like First Blood, never quite loved it for some reason. III is over the top and IV is just not quite there for me. I totally love Part II. It's the perfect simple action film. I know Stallone changed James Cameron's original script a lot but he had the sense to leave the basic plot structure and keep the great action scenes. The helicopter stuff is extremely cool. That big gunship at the end is such a mean-looking thing.

I really love Steven Berkoff, he was such a great villain in the 80s. I actually found him quite scary when I was young, in Octopussy and Beverly Hills Cop. The bit where he screams "Shut up" at Eddie Murphy's girlfriend, I remember jumping at that - you really get the idea he's going to hurt her. He's campier in this but still a great bad guy. "To me you are a comrade". Russian Commies always made brilliant villains. I love the one in Firefox who tells Clint Eastwood to bring back the property of the "Ooh Ess Ess Arr".

And of course Kreese from The Karate Kid is in it and he gets his arse handed to him by Sly.

I prefer IV to this tbh but this and part 3 are great fun. Gotta love them exploding arrow tips.

Ok guys watched First Blood last night, liked it! Not the greatest film but very watchable and enjoyable. Those Sheriffs sure bit off more then they could chew that'll learn them (very dodgy tash in the flashbacks lol)

Now on to First Blood part 2.

a little, my expections were reset before watching it due the comments on this thread. Mostly i had the impression before that the first 2 movies were set in nam, which the first obviously isn't but i think the second film will be? But i thought it was fairly action packed as i expected and i really liked the end, humanised him when he broken down.

Exploding arrow tips are great. It's a bugger finding them on eBay but well worth it when you do.

Even though I watched this a fair few times (I was working in a Cinema at the time this was showing) I watched it again tonight on blu-ray for old times sake. Pic for an almost 25 year old film was very good, though I think they could've remastered the soundtrack a bit better. Can't really complain for 7 quid though.

OK!

Saw Rambo:First Blood Part 2. Good old fashioned OTT action film. This is more like the iconic Rambo we're all used to i guess. I wonder which parts were James Cameron?

Now on part 3 tonight!

I like part 3 but its like he's invincible in it.

Best line of the series in it though.

Yeah it's proper gung ho action all the way....that's where all the rambo shooting from the hip action started...some cool shooting with the machine gun in there.

The third one is also good but my personal fav is part two.

haha, best line from Rambo III

Who does he think he is? God?

God would have mercy, he won't...

It's nice seeing some good old fashioned OTT action, 80's style. Part of me is glad that i haven't seen these movies up until now.

Now, Rambo IV

One thing i have to say, because i have been seeing these films back to back pretty much. I noticed they have been pretty faithful in terms of continuaty in regaurds to the scars he picked up over the course of the movies. For example, the one he got on his right arm in First Blood, was still there in Rambo III. Little details like that impress me
