Good choice. Not least because of the success of Rocky Balboa.

What was cool about R3 (for me) was that as he was running round in the villages in Afghanistan, I understood what the locals were talking about

What an uninspired idea. I can just imagine the thinking "it worked for Rocky Balboa, it can work for Rambo".

Why, were they saying things that made no sense in the context of the movie? If I was an extra hired to speak a language that the director didn't know, I might be tempted to have a little fun.

If this one's successful can we finally expect to see the long awaited sequels to many Stallone classics with titles such as Lincoln Hawk, John Spartan, and my personal favourite, Marion 'Cobra' Cobretti?

Rocky - A cool sounding name. Balboa - A cool sounding name. Rambo - A cool sounding name. John - Not.

According to todays Sun this Rambo will be showing his age aka No more running from explosions etc. More introspective. Sounds great...........

If he snaps necks with his zimmer frame or garrotes with his iv it could be cool though.

The first pics from the set of John Rambo here. Seems that having his stash of HGH confiscated by Australian customs a few weeks back hasn't done Stallone's training any harm. Still in great shape by the look of it.

You know I really do want this to be good, but he really does look riddiculous in those picture doesn't he? Still even if it does turn out to be a bad film and I hope it isn't, it might be one of those amusingly bad films.

Filming has began, first set pictures:

http://www.ramboiv.moonfruit.com/

I must say, i think it'll be a hit like the last Rocky was, Sly looks in great shape, and the story is decent enough to please action fans of the 80s while maintaining some suspense.

It's not called Rambo 4, or first blood part 4, but JOHN RAMBO, perhaps we should change the thread title!

Still not too sure about this myself. Rocky Balboa was great, but this seems a bit of a stretch. Hope to be proved wrong though. Loved the first 3.

I suppose John Rambo makes sense - after all, Rocky Balboa was a decent enough title for the final (?) Rocky film.

I am quite looking forward to this now. Plus the female part looks nice enough.
