Is there a case for Gendry coming back and killing Dany? and we come full circle with a Baratheon led defeat of the Targareyens?

Anyone signing the petition to get this season remade 849k signatures so far.

I hope star wars is watching this and sacks these hacks before they set foot in a galaxy far far away

I thought they'd pretty much binned off all the Star Wars films except episode 9.

Old news, no they are making another trilogy and releasing it alternate years with Avatar

Rian Johnson's star wars looks dead

I love Lost, there’s nothing else quite like it.

On another Lost note, I love this. Contains spoilers...

Lost was another show where people hated the last season, didn't someone on this forum had a **** fit, threaten people on here then get banned as he couldn't stand the negative comments?

I think some are signing the "petition" just to humiliate D&D (you would have to be mad to think HBO would spend $60 to $100 million to remake this season)

Aside from the fast travel, I haven't found the last couple of seasons have been any different, tonally, or from a writing perspective, from the previous six.

If anything, it's got 'bigger'.

If the last 2 seasons were 10 episodes each I think people would be saying it would be the perfect show. Now in the show, things happen because its convenient for the writers (and to fit in the short season) Its like a horror film, where the victim will do something dumb and get killed because the writer can't be arsed

I agree, it's suffered, pacing wise, from the shorter seasons, but I don't see anyone doing anything out of their established characters.

I'm not noticing the huge problems, but as said it is rushed. So instead of a 40 minute episode you're getting one that is an 80 minutes, then thinking that someone has changed too quick.

Not sure why they did it this way?

I assume the actors get paid by the episode.

Not sure why - she just made him a lord and he hates Kings Landing anyway.

The show has never been "40 minute episodes" just checking season 1 and 2 on wiki, they were around 55 minutes by ep on average.

By having shorter season it creates problems with the characters as they shoe horn 10 episodes into 6 ep. With full season they could of shown Dany actually going mad and not just quickly flip

the show runners want to move on from the show since end of season 6, so they can cash in on their SW pay day. HBO stated they offered the budget for 10 episodes but the show runners said they can do it with 6

If there were 10 episodes they would average out at 43 mins per episode based on all the running times.

Yeh so stick five minutes of filler in, a few boobies and you've got normal episodes.

I reckon if you re-edited it, added ten minutes of Dany dialogue and showed it over ten episodes, her paranoia setting in (that Sansa is out to get her), maybe a bit from Jamie discussing concerns with Tyrion about comparisons to the Mad King. That ambassador guy whose Dad she crucified in revenge getting in on the discussion, It'd just make a bit more sense.

What's a little odd is that the episodes seem to have been finished for a good while - at least they released details of each episode's running times a while back.

So while there probably wasn't scope for re-shoots, there was certainly time for more rigerous editing or even some dialogue trickery if plotline concerns became more obvious. (I totally get that when you're totally immersed in something like this you often can't see the wood for the trees.)

Those running times were estimates and they slightly overestimated the running times. The episodes were not completed ages ago, all the special effects have taken a long time to get done. But obviously they had a good idea for a while how much time those effects shots would take up. In fact the people responsible for doing the effects said there’s no way that they can get it all done by April when the final season start date was announced. So either they got more resources to get them completed, left a few effect shots out or worked a lot of overtime.

It’s obvious some scenes were cut.

Thinking of things Sansa did: she saved the day at the Battle of the ************ knowing what the potential cost would be.
