Yup.

I don't get the hate for him heading back to Kings Landing, or why Daenerys had him imprisoned, tbh.

He made a commitment to join the fight against the dead, he upheld that commitment, and when the fight was over, he returned home.

I realise that meant he would be an enemy of Daenerys again, but I think she should have let him go with a "thank you".

If you don't consummate a relationship its not valid (I believe technically that is still grounds in this country and generally)

Not saying you're wrong about Sansa, it's looking a little like it, but why FFS? Not sure why she's shown any sense she'd be good at it, she's like the woman at work who can find fault with everything but hasn't got a decent idea in her herself.

She's the smartest person Ayra knows.

Daenerys is still probably the best choice for queen - that girl gets **** done!

Do people want a 'happy' ending? Not necessarily a tidy one, but one where the 'good' characters win and the baddies lose?

I don't think GoT has necessarily re-written the rules of TV, but telly shows in recent years are much more likely to play with convention than films currently are. Given that the books are meant to give a sense of there being a history and a future outside of the books themselves, I'm not convinced we'll see a conclusion that brings everything to a grand finale and a happy ending.

[Scene - Throne Room, internal]
Tyrion, Dany, Jon, Sansa and Bran all face each other. Bran sits looking past everyone else.

[Bran]
It is clear to me now.

[Tyrion]
Indeed, I think it's clear to us all now, who is the rightful ruler.

[Others nod]

Fade to black... Scene ends.

I think the happy ending a lot of people wanted was not-mad Danny on the throne and Jon Snow (plus wolf) by her side, Tyrion as her hand, and Sansa as Warden of the North. Jamie sees the error of his ways and kills Cersei before going back for Brianne. Arya marries Gendry and Sam runs the citadel.
Can't see that happening now

One reason I think people are so mad is that they've been touting Danny as the poster girl for female empowerment for years now, and that's gone off the rails for them and they feel a bit silly. Should have picked Sansa for that...

I can see them ending with some sort of uneasy alliance, Dany on the thrown, everyone bending a knee or getting burned alive, some stauncher allies than others. Jon going back North in a bit of a huff as Warden. Possibly Tyrion doing the same (to the East??).

Can't see why it'd end any other way.

5 years time when their Star Wars trilogy has been binned off (if it hasn't already), they can come back and do another series.

honestly, I think it's going end with a sour ending and a load of questions left unanswered.

Maybe they've all been in purgatory for the entire time, waiting for them all to meet again so they can go to heaven.

If the camera doesn’t pull back in the end to reveal that the entire world isn’t inside the eye of a blue eyed giant named ‘Macumber’ then I’m taking to the Internet in protest at the show runners for ruining the entire thing for me. Look, Robb Stark said it to Bran in season 1 and Oberyn Martell said it to Tywin Lannister in season 4. Every title sequence clearly shows that the world is on the inside of a sphere i.e. that the surface is concave. Bran’s whole journey is to become so powerful and all seeing that he can finally reveal this truth, only to realise that ‘Macumber’ is the real name of the Night King.

500000 people who need to get in the sea. I'm sure many signed it lightheartedly but it just shows how entitled people think they are. You don't like how a TV show is ending? Suck it up.

Was thinking last night that apart from House Stark, most of the other houses have lost their leaders (though there's still Tyrion for Lannister*).

*for until the last episode at least.

Half the houses are totally gone, save for the odd character!

There's always someone else though isn't there? A cousin or something.

House Arryn is still going I think
Stark doing OK
They've sorted out Barratheon, were they the wardens of something? I think not
House Lannister would be Tyrion
The Tulleys were going to be the other but weren't, I guess Sam could be but I guess he doesn't want to be.

There's still a Tully left too.
