Stupid question but do the duration times, for the Odeon, include adverts and trailers.

Just trying to work out if Incredibles 2 at 13:30 and then Skyscraper at 15:40 is doable ( with Incredibles 2 being 125 minutes )

You have to factor in about 20 minutes of adverts and trailers at the start of the performance. So if the start time for Incredibles 2 is advertised for 1330 the film won't start until about 1350 and will finish around 1550. You would probably miss the adverts before Skyscraper but still make the trailers and start of the movie.

We made it in to Skyscraper just before the first trailer ( but missed most of the Incredible 2 credits ). Had completely forgotten , as well, that being a Pixar it had a short at the start of high I don't think is accounted for in the running time.

What the heck is the use of a Limitless card when your local Odeon isn't showing MI:Fallout on a screen 'higher' than Screen 4?

higher than Screen 4? From what I understand the biggest screens at my local are 2 and 5. Don't know if this is standard. FIlms do seem to come out on the top screens and work their way down the building though.

As I understand it the biggest screens at my local (Guildford) are Screens 1 and 2. Not much lower than that and you are pretty much in the equivalent of a home cinema with a few friends around

Other than 'preview' showings i.e the Wed/Thu screenings before its official opening weekend, big releases usually start on 1 or 2 and then slowly work there way down the screens.

Now I appreciate that it is now school holidays and that Mamma Mia is only a few days old and Incredibles 2 is also less than 2 weeks old but a MI film starting at Screen 4 seems a bit odd to me.

Maybe it is just a local Odeon thing but my local Vue and Cineworld are both showing it from today on one of their larger screens.

Rant over

Yeah normally a new film comes out and knocks the old one out. Which can be annoying when they are on top of each other. However sometimes a film is performing so well that it retains the screen and the new film gets the lesser screen, this happened if I remember rightly with something like Valerian which I wanted to see in 3D IMAX but Dunkirk was keeping the screen as still selling well several weeks later.

At Guildford, 1 & 2 are the super big screens
3, 4 and 5 are large and nothing to really complain about
6, 7, 8 and 9 are poxy little things.

That's not so bad.

I have just got 2 limitless cards, was quite a faff as turned up at cinema yesterday all set to buy them and they said can't buy in person. Which was annoying as it would have saved us Ł33 on that showing alone (they refunded what we paid in the end).

Having 2 cards and trying to book 2 seats could be made easier, rather than both trying to log on at same time and grab seats at same time, next to another. Sure they could come up with a better answer to this one, plenty of people must want to book with friends and not have to wait to book until both people can do it?

Booking online at Odeon for single seats is always a pain ( though you can sort of understand them not wanting to leave single seats available if possible ) so I am not even sure how your 'both logged in plan at the same time' would even always work.

Some way of linking additional cards to an account would seem pretty easy to implement as well.

True, if we were booking at same time as others we could find us with one getting a seat and the other not.
So as it’s cost free we’d just book another showing, which isn’t ideal from odeon point of view!

Cineworld just lets you have both cards registered against your account. Their IT is rubbish but that would seem to be a minimum functionality (if I understand your point).
Also you can book in person no problem.

yep, that was pretty much it, i'd want both cards booked against my account as 95% of the time we'll be booking to see something together. I'll email them and suggest it would be handy!

Impressed with the Limitless screenings though.

I know Antman was only a few days before release but Equaliser 2 early is a nice bonus

(Wasnt bothered by Oceans Eight or Whitney)

It was the 'mystery' showing Monday. Only a couple of days, but still a nice surprise.

this was todays fun

We pick the showing and i try and select my seat, which i can't do, it defaults to the one next to it (to avoid having a spair space). But then other half can't select the space next to the one i want for same reason!

And in fact i got an error message, and when i went back in, that seat was now gone!

so have to have to find 2 more seats that are not next to an aisle so we can both select and check out at same time. MADNESS!

(and in fact other half checked out, i have an error so can't book grrr)
and i can't book another seat as i HAVE ONE BOOKED

Apparently i now have to wait an hour for my booking to be cleared and try again. such good service. NOT!

The Odeon website is balls.

Recently it took me 2 hours for the above reasons to book 2 tickets for 2 showings.

I tried to book by phone and then pc, and was advised to book by customer services to use the app. And couldnt book by that either

In the end I just walked over and booked tickets in person.
