Why is that first pic a spoiler? It's just a picture of the actress who plays Melisandre

I've never seen it, there is little need now with all the spoilers being chucked about. I can't read your comment to prevent further spoilers

Why are you reading a thread for season 4 of a show you've never seen an complaining about potential spoliers (which aren't really spoilers)??

Even the fact they're making a new season is a spoiler - the story goes on at least this long!!

My use of the 'super spoiler' was a joke.. because it showed nothing other than half a face and could in no way be misconstrued as a spoiler.

Too late - there's bound to be a 'people took to social media to express their outrage' movement happening about it right now!

People worried about spoilers now can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as this season is going to take us past the books. As a book reader, I'm quite intrigued.

It's been so long since I've read the books I can't really remember where we were.

So you've just spoiled that completely for me. Thanks.

I didn't even know it was based on books, thanks for spoilering the TV series for me.

Is it going beyond the books in all elements? I'd have thought they could string out a couple of seasons.

The showrunners are pretty determined to wrap it up in 7 seasons.

Is it me or is this whole thing being massively misreported? All I can find is an interview with Benioff where he stated that they will eventually overtake the books & that the TV show is working towards the same conclusion as the novels (assuming Martin doesn't change his mind about things as he writes along that is).

There's nothing to suggest they're going to sweep past the books specifically this season: Even if take into account that both Feast For Crows and Dance with Dragons occur adjacently to each other, so in TV terms they'll be adapting both novels as one entity & presumably jettisoning many of the side-characters in the various new locales for expediency, there's still an absolute mountain of material to get through this season (in 10eps I assume) for the show to leapfrog the books.

I think it's much more likely that the show will still be behind or on point with the books by the end of this new season, but one or two subplots or plot points might be in a more advanced state. Little things like the ending to last season giving us a much more detailed glimpse of the Others than we've had in the books for instance.
