Been enjoying the last couple of episodes, Fireflash and the MagTrain. Both reworkings of original plots with a twist.
Liked the bit with Grandma tidying up after the TB1 launch. Couldn't tell if she was waving or shaking her fist!

The stories are still weak (lets see what David Baddiel's episode is like) but whats bugging me right now is after finding the ITV1 showings have now kicked in Saturday Mornings I've of course set Sky+ for ITVHD but they aren't being broadcast in HD!

As in not on the HD channel or on the HD channel but broadcast in SD? Mine picks it up from ITVHD on Tivo (VM). Looks pretty good quality to me.

Compared to the shows on the Cartoon Network or Disney XD this is pretty poor and my kids just aren't interested in it.

It's not so much the generic characters it's the poor scripts.

On STV they being shown on STV HD. And yes missed a few as I didn't realise they thought only children would want to watch and bumped it to Saturday mornings. I would have thought this was perfect early evening fodder?

If you're on Sky look at the guide and see if the program text is written in yellow. If its white then its being shown on SD, whether its on an HD channel or not.

After the relative success of the CGI, the original puppets are making a short return.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34015095

I saw a clip about this on the BBC news this morning. Puppets look authentic, although I'm assuming they are not the originals (weren't some stolen a while back?)

The puppets and many of the models are being built from scratch for these new episodes. WETA have been involved in several of the newly created models.

I've seen a few additional clips and it's looking brilliant. Mind you, they said in the news article that the episodes are being broadcast next year - they're not.

The original puppets were thrown into a skip when they moved out of Slough and then rescued by various people including a factory worker.

I saw all three completed episodes at the ICA last night and they are stunning - seamlessly capturing the look, feel, sound and spirit of the original series. But they will not be broadcast.
