Thunderbirds

Looks like there's a new version of this, CGI of course, coming soon.

Photo of the brothers has been released and I have to say, aside from Alan, they look OK to me. The real question to me is what the hardware looks like. Seeing that they've gone for the look of the original we can only hope.

The shows a mix of real models and cgi characters. There's a lot of talent behind the camera- Weta certainly know how to do cgi. But my God those character designs suck. Totally bland and unimaginative. There almost as bad as the Bob the Builder redesigns.

The two blond haired ones both look mega weird. The one of the right looks like he hasn't slept in a week.

Teaser trailer:

& some very nice model work for the sets by Weta Workshop:

Despite the boyband looks of the leads, I'm quite looking forward to this.

That second video shows a lot of callbacks to the design of the original series (which is a good thing).

I never caught the remake(-boot) of Captain Scarlett, was that any good?

Animation wise I quite enjoyed it but it was let down a little by the storylines. Too much Captain Black all the time.

videos look pretty good but the crucial part for me is what the Thunderbirds look like and how they act. Give them some weight and I'll be happy. You always got the impression from the puppet version that vehicles weighed 50 tons each.

I wouldn't say the voice acting in the originals was oscar worthy but the remake was more wooden than the puppets.

Brief character & vehicle introductions

(warning: repetition & possible irritation follows)

Glad the vehicles look roughly the same.

Captain Scarlet was kept like the 60s series, except more wood in the acting department.
Apparently "On 18 December 2014 it was announced that the series had been picked up for a second season". Pretty ggod going given they haven't got viewing figure for the first season as it's not being screened until April.

Here's the first proper trailer. I like the hardware, especially the nod to Space:1999, but I can't get over the boy band look.

The Space 1999 Eaglecockpit exterior is a nice touch.

Looks great, the orignal puppets were based on popular movie stars, today they're based on a more modern look of good looking lads, doesn't seem to take anything from it IMO

When is it out?

Trailer looks pretty good IMO.

One thing though, although we hear Jeff at the end of that trailer, he's not in any of the video as far as I can tell. Is he even in it I wonder.

Everything looks great apart from those character designs.

Hopefully they'll get improved as the show goes on.
