Couldn't agree more.
Especially Rupert Friend as Quinn this season - absolutely amazing acting.

Just caught up and finished the series after a holiday.
Brilliant, one of the best shows on TV. Every series, you think that they will run out of new plots, but the series makers seem to find a plausible way of putting Carrie in a slightly different job. The end of this series was chilling - didn't expect it to finish that way.

Excellent performance from Rupert Friend in this series - didn't realise he was English. Good to see Jake Weber get a meaty role more than 20 years after American Gothic as well - haven't seen him in much since.

I have also just finished the season and Really enjoyed it.

The last few seasons have been okay but this season feels like a return to form.

I'm constantly amazed at the amount of really good English actors in US shows Rupert Friend was excellent.
On saying that I do like Jake Weber but his accent seemed a little off in this.

Not even a nomination for Rupert Friend in the Emmys?!?

He was amazing as Quinn this year.

Yet, Patinkin gets one for a solid, but standard performance?

Just revisited this thread and many saying how good the last season was. 2 Episodes in to the new series and.... how has Carrie lasted this long - a hacker that can ransom your laptop, hack the web cam but can't find porn on the web?

It just seems odd - or are they trying to out weird the real world.

The only explanation I can think of is that because her meds are no longer working, she isint thinking straight.

She never thought straight some of that was how she did the job, but you wonder if / how she would have got that level of security clearance and the flitting between analyst and 'operative' very different.

Plus amount her child is ignored.

Did anybody stick with this all the way through? I thought that it turned out to be another excellent series. One of the things that impresses me about Homeland is how the writers manage to stay ahead of the curve in terms of current affairs. There was plenty of intrigue and twists and turns during series 7, and once again, the ending sets things up nicely for the next season ..... or maybe it's a true ending?

It was hard to get my head around having Ken Barlow's son playing the the President's assistant, but to my ears, his accent was flawless.

Linus Roache has been in a fair few things in the 40yrs since he played Ken Barlow's son! I think the yoof of today recognise him more as Thomas Wayne tbh!

Homeland could have been a great show had the writers has got the good sense to just focus on the tradecraft/political stuff (which they always do well), but no, seasons 1-2 had to be bogged down with the bleedin' Brody family soap opera and every season since he found a noose we've had to put up with the Matheson Bipolar Soap Opera. Every. *******. Season.

Just imagine a season of Homeland with no Bipolar crap consuming the better part of at least four episodes of it. What would that look like? Well we're not gonna find out because next season is the last and the ending to s7 suggests we're getting Crazy Carrie cranked up to 11 for a good portion of the early season.

He was in Corrie 2 or 3 years ago. I must be out of touch with the yoof because I've no idea who Thomas Wayne is - I'll go and look it up.

So all finished now after eight seasons - I had concerns heading into the finale but overall I thought they did a good job with the ending.

Just finished watching it. Very good as usual. A shame that's the end but it probably is a good way to finish. Whilst it had a few wobbly moments in the early series (i.e. the Brody family), the quality of the writing and storylines has been excellent since. Considering it's been on TV for nearly a decade, it's hard to think of another show that has been this good for so long.
