I think this season has been excellent.

Really enjoying it. Last season bored me, but this is excellent.

Yep, just watched Ep 7 and this is classy stuff - I suspect a lot of people gave up on Homeland over the last couple of seasons, but they've chucked away all the Brody baggage and are producing a smart tense spy thriller up there with The Americans.

If this was a new show everyone would be raving about it.

Loving it here too. This and The Leftovers are fulfilling all my intelligent and well acted drama cravings.

I'm behind on this, only made it up to ep. 3 but struggled with that one TBH. Was beginning to feel like the same old Homeland with crazy Carrie and CIA double crossing. Was feeling anything but intelligent. (Probably didn't help I was finishing off The Americans S3 at the same time)

Does this take a notable upturn then around ep 4 onwards?

Your mileage may vary, but for me, since Ep 4 it hasn't put a foot wrong. Except maybe

I must admit I didn't get into this season until Episode 4, it's like they didn't know what they were going to do with it.

That's my one complaint about this season - you've got a solid smart spy story on one hand, and on the other Action Man Quinn and his implausible adventures. Also like the way Carrie has apparently forgotten all about him.

Felt it went a bit odd this latest ep. Still good, but some of the stuff (Dar Adal has suddenly become incredibly trusting and forgotten the existence of lie detectors?) doesn't stand up to much thought.

I think his character probably wouldn't care, but he'd be willing to utilise a new asset if possible.

He's perfectly willing to shift allegiances, as we've seen before depending on the main 'enemy' at the time.

I'd love to know if al-Assad, is aware of this show.

And now at more length...

That was the best episode of the season so far, and I'm very glad I decided to stick with it. It also at least partially justifies some of the stuff I've been dubious about - the writers stretch credibility here and there, but damn it sets up some incredible scenes an episode or two down the line.

Said this before, but I'll say it again - if this was a new show without the Homeland baggage it'd be front page "OMG have you seen this new show" material. Because people have got fed up with it and it's not something anyone can claim to have 'discovered', (and I guess the slow start of the first three episodes) it's being overlooked.

It really isn't anyting amazing and certainly isn't up to the standard set by the likes of Narcos and Fargo this year, it's just good by Homeland standards. Tense, but nonsensical, gripping and annoying in equal measure at times.

This!

Couldn't have put it any better. The only thing i'll add is that this season, EVERY scene that features Miranda Otto, is a highlight. Alison is the best thing about this season.

Interesting finale.

I've enjoyed this season, mainly because it's been very on point with current affairs.
