It was quite abstract and odd musically, put you on edge well. Not quite sure how I would classify it in a genre musically may see what the sound tracks like that may help.

Dull as dishwater. I think you can definitely make the case for a film about a flu virus that wipes out 1% of the population having more interest than the usual 99%, but doesn't mean you have to be this uninvolving.

The film was a stiff anyway, but even if it hadn't been Jude Law may have ruined it single-handedly. Terrible part, terrible performance, terrible wardrobe, terrible make-up, terrible accent. But other than that...

I disagree about Law being the worst part of the film - I think Marion Coultards segment was far worse. It's starts off interesting and then it ends up god knows where.

It's quality. You can well imagine it hangin about with R2-D2. And when the fan is switched on it looks like it's scanning for life-forms like R2-D2 does on the ice world of Hoth when Luke Skywalker goes missing. Quality in moton. The other day it disappeared. I said, "where's the bag-l gone? have the jawas come to pick it up in the sandcrawler?" to which one of the girls in the office replied, "No, Les the porter!" —Captainchode

I enjoyed this to be honest, although it was a little lightweight given the subject matter.

EDIT: Thought the early autopsy scene was a little harsh for a 12, the wife wasn't impressed.

I agree with the above regarding Coultard. Jude Law, I thought, did OK. His Aussie accent wasn't too bad - I just found it a little pointless why they just didn't leave him English seeing as that seems to be the common nationality for journalists in Hollywood movies any ways.
Coultards role ended up being completely pointless on the other hand. Why were we supposed to care about those people in the village exactly? And the storyline ultimately served no purpose at all.

The ending also seemed a little on the rushed side.

I Enjoyed it, but not the type of film I'd rewatch.

Agree about the early autopsy scene being a bit too much.

Didn't really like the film too much though. Jude Law's character just did not work for me and I found it all disjointed.

Same here, I was really enjoying it and waiting for it to go "somewhere" but it just seemed to plod along and then fade out. Right up to the end I was waiting for an unexpected twist or for it to ramp things up a level but it never came. The whole Day 1 thing at the end was pretty pointless too.

Fired this one up again and still a pretty decent film. On second viewing, the Jude Law arc was a bit polintless. Would have liked more on the global panic.

Quite a few big stars in this too.

I suppose it is topical now with the coronavirus. It is a good film and for once I liked Soderbergh's direction - I am not a fan of his films. Of all the many stars, I lined Jennifer Ehle's character most, with its understated and yet crucial role in overcoming the epidemic.

The China angle is oddly prophetic.

Not a great fan of his; but the Limey is a good watch
