Parks and Recreation - New US comedy series

From the people who gave us The Office (The US version, not the terrible UK one) comes Parks and Recreation. Starring SNL veteran Amy Poehler and starting on the 9th of April it already has it's own mock website:

The clips I've seen look very funny

Well, I thought it was a pretty good opening. Not a huge Amy Poehler fan, but enjoyed her character and it's good to see Rashida Jones back, albeit in a different role.

Yeah it was a reasonable opener. Definitely using the Office template but with a lower LOL quota. It did make me chuckle plenty though. Has potential.

I'll give it a few episodes, but it just seemed like a less funny version of The Office.

A less funny version of the US office and a less funny version of The Hollowmen combined. I'll give it another few episodes, but I can't see it being a regular.

I can see the potential, needs to find it feet though.

can't miss the "office template" blueprint though

I thought it was quite good, probably on a par with this season's Office.

It was supposed to be a spin-off which is why it follows the same pattern.

I think there's only going to be 6 episodes in the season which should give it enough time to find it's feet.

It might be good if there was less of Poehler's character, she's pretty rubbish and dominated the first episode. The amusing parts were Rashida and her BF. Interesting dig at what seemed to be the republican boss character, perhaps this will be to politics what The Office is to business.

Quite liked it, showed promise. Mrs M who works for the council and has lots of dealing with parks and recreation thought it was comedy gold.

Hmmmm, still not sure yet. There was some occasional comedy brilliance this week (encounter with the peadophile, catching them playing Rock Band & the claymore mine on that guy's desk ) but the rest didn't really work for me, especially the whole town meeting.

Great S2 opener, much funnier than any S1 episode. How can anything that features gay penguin sex, NOT be funny!

No love for this from anyone else?

Another cracker this week with the Beauty pagent, with more big laughs than The Office. Unfortunately the ratings are poor in the US & haven't improved from last season, despite being much funnier.

Yeah the beauty pageant was pretty funny. Otherwise quite an average series I think.

I think this season has shown a real jump in quality from S1. The asian guy is by far my favourite character.

The last episode of the first season was a jump in quality IMO, and it's been consistently good in S2

I really liked the first season but season 2 has really hit it's stride. (A bit like the US Office.)
I'm finding myself routing for her to cop off with the cop!

I don't think this is even half as funny as the office. Like The Office, however, the lead characture is the least funny. I much prefer Rashida Jones' character and her boyfriend.
