There's a cracking dance mix of Futureheads' Hounds of Love.

I also like Magnet's version of Lay Lady Lay.

And Senor Coconut's Smoke on the Water.

I have a feeling I've mentioned these about a million times before.

Yes another vote for Hurt. It just makes the hairs on the back of your neck/back stand up. Very emotional video too!

I think some Cover versions are actually better than the original and my vote for best cover version is Ian Brown's Billie Jean cover.

If you haven't heard it yet go go go!

Had never heard it till Saturday (it was on E4's 100 greatest videos thing) but thought it was a great cover, in fact I'm going to go out at lunchtime and try and find the album that it's on!

Actually, does anyone know the name of the album it's on, to save me searching through all of them?

Speaking of Tricky - his version of Black Steel off his first album is brilliant.

Down In The Tube Station At Midnight by Carter USM is one of my faves. They also did a version of Trouble by some girl band (Shampoo?) that was just as good.

Least favourite is any cover of Bohemian Rhapsody, but especially G4's one.

Favourite cover would be Heard It Through The Grapevine by Creedence Clearwater Revival, worst would be pretty much any cover of Unchained Melody.

Carter's cover versions were usuallt pretty darn good, and there was usually one on every B-side, After the watershed had This is how it feels (Inspiral Carpets), Bloodsport for all had Bedsitter (Soft Cell), Do re me, so far so good had Down in the tube station (The Jam) as you mentioned, Rubbish had Rent (Pet Shop Boys), The only living boy in New Cross had Panic (the Smiths), and Trouble (Shampoo) was on The young offenders mother ... all good stuff!
