The artist is Hotei Tomoyasu.

The english title of the song is Battle Without Honor Or Humaity

The original title is ShinJingi-nakiTatakai

I'm not sure about the english title, I think that's right.

If your on your favourite file sharing network then just do a search for Kill Bill - thats how I found it as no-one has it under the correct title.

And it was used on the soundtrack of a little seen Japanese Yakuza movie - Tarantino's up to his old tricks again

I couldn't care less where he gets his music from as long as it suits the film and the original composer gets credited.

Trailer makes the film look like a cross between Charlie's Angels and CTHD.

From the trailer it looks like just another 'kung foo on wires' film that would have been cool if it had been released about 5 years ago.
Trailers can be misleading however

Still, critics will say they love it anyway cos it's by Tarantino.

Hotei, Tomoyasu is a guitar legend in Japan, having played with the bands Boowie and Complex before embarking on a solo career. He also played the lead role in the Japanese film Samurai Fiction... and my one and a half year old son's middle name "Tomoyasu" was inspired by the man himself

The R2 Japanese release of Samurai Fiction was pretty good (you can find our in-depth review here). A very good movie.

What the trailer doesn't show is how violent the film is. Shots in the latest issue of Fangoria suggest it's FULL ON. I think it's far more of an exploitation film than the rather anodyne trailer suggests. Which is good.
